Mistakes in the Bible and Lost Books?

8/1/2019

by James Baker
**** First of all, God makes no mistakes.

Isaiah 55:10-11 (NIV)
As the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish,so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater. So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

Proverbs 30:5 (NIV)
Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.

Psalm 19:7 (NIV)
The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.

So,relax, there is no need for concern. Yes, the bible will require some extra reading and thinking on certain passages, but that's not mistakes. Instead it is understanding what the will of the Lord is. Eph 5:17

****No such thing as lost books; some are just left out, but not lost.

 John 20:30-31 (NIV)
Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe[ that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

 1 Corinthians 5:9 (NIV)
I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people?

Just relax dear reader. In Hollywood, we understand that some parts of films, end up on the cutting room floor. The producers and directors feel those edited parts aren't needed; so that is why they end up on the floor of the editing room. Same is true with the bible.

****No one can keep out or lose what the Lord wants published

 Jeremiah 36:22-23 (NIV)
It was the ninth month and the king was sitting in the winter apartment, with a fire burning in the firepot in front of him. Whenever Jehudi had read three or four columns of the scroll, the king cut them off with a scribe?s knife and threw them into the firepot, until the entire scroll was burned in the fire.

 Jeremiah 36:27-28 (NIV)
After the king burned the scroll containing the words that Baruch had written at Jeremiah?s dictation, the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: Take another scroll and write on it all the words that were on the first scroll, which Jehoiakim king of Judah burned up.

Just relax, dear reader. You can be assured that God will do His part and see that His word arrives before man. Man cannot be held responsible for the delivery of the word. That is God's part. Man has the job of reading and obeying the word. Relax, you have what God wants you to know. Just do your part and obey it.
