This is only for people who believe the Bible to be God's word.
A lot of churches teach that it is sinful for people to eat certain foods. These same folks also teach that certain foods must only be eaten on certain days. For example, fish on Fridays and certain meals for so-called Holy days or holidays; and don't dare go near that piece of ham!
In the Old Testament, the people of God were commanded to eat certain foods (Leviticus 11). The Bible makes this perfectly clear, however many fail to understand that the Old Testament isn't binding on men today. The Old Testament has ceased to be binding on men because Jesus ended it with his death on the cross, and since that time men have been governed by the law of Christ which is the New Testament (Hebrews 8:6–13; 2 Corinthians 3:6; Heb. 9:1–17; Heb. 10:1–18; Colossians 2:14–17; Matthew 26:26–29).
The law of Christ has said that men would teach false doctrines by telling people that they cannot eat certain things which God has commanded to be received with thanksgiving. Under the New Testament you can eat anything you want, and that is anything, for all kinds of meat are good and can be eaten, providing we give thanks (1 Timothy 4:1–5; Acts 27:35).
Hope to hear from you or see you at the services.
