This is only for people who believe the Bible to be God's word.
Do you attend a church that has two or more collections; that ask for money from the visitors and also tithe? The Bible teaches that the church is to obtain its funds though the members' giving once on the first day of the week (1 Corinthians 16:1–4). There may be visitors in attendance, but it is made known that they are under no obligation to put anything into the basket because they aren't members of that local church. If visitors do put money into the basket, it will be because they choose to do so, not because the church expected such.
Tithing, or giving a tenth, was a command God gave to the Israelites (Leviticus 27:30–34; Malachi 3:6–12). Such isn't to be taught as a command today because the Old Testament was replaced by the New Testament when Jesus died on the cross (Hebrews 7:19–22; Heb. 8:6–13; Heb. 9:11–28; Heb. 10:1–20; Colossians 2:14; Matthew 26:28; 2 Cor. 3:6–17).
Hope to hear from you or see you at the services
