Man Can't Change What God Instituted

5/25/2008

California and Massachusetts have gone further than any other state in violating the word of God by claiming to redefine marriage. My fellow humans, what are you thinking? The home and marriage is a divine institution created by the Lord Himself, and placed upon this earth to benefit man (Genesis 1:27, 2:18; Proverbs 18:22). God has already defined marriage and named the subjects to be placed within (Gen. 2:21-25, 3:16; 1 Corinthians 7:2; Hebrews 13:4). Man can no more redefine marriage than he can redefine Heaven and Hell. Also understand this: man needs God in order to have a marriage, and the Lord will not join in matrimony that which He didn’t authorize (Matthew 19:6, 14:1-5, 12:30; Joshua 7:10-12).

The problem is no respect for the word of God, and that is creating this mentality where men are doing as they please. Such conduct has happened before, and it didn’t work out well for the nation (Judges 21:25; Prov. 14:34; Gen. 18:22-33). But man can turn things around by showing respect for the word of the Lord. And churches need to start standing on the word of God and quit giving in to the people when they are wrong (Exodus 32:21; Numbers 23:11-12; Acts 5:29; Revelation 2:18-29).

What Does the Bible Say about Divorce?

5/18/2008

I want you to do your own investigation of the scriptures, and I want you to allow it to speak to you and tell you what is said. Don’t try to make the scripture fit your thoughts, but rather change your views so you will become as what is taught (1 Timothy 6:16).

“And I say unto you, whosoever shall put away (divorce) his wife, except it be for fornication (sexual immorality) and shall marry another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her which is put away (divorced), commits adultery (Matthew 19:9).

The questions are:
  1. For what reason did Jesus say that one could divorce a spouse?
  2. Is adultery a good thing?
  3. What did Jesus say about marrying someone who is put away (divorced)?
  4. Are people divorcing for reasons which are different from what Jesus said?
  5. Do states allow many reasons for divorce?
  6. Are we to follow the states or the word of God?
  7. Is it possible that the states could allow something which God has condemned?
  8. What is sexual immorality?
  9. Are people marrying others who have been put away?
  10. Are those people living in adultery?
  11. Is this verse warning about divorce and remarriage?

Tell Us about Your Investigation of Scripture

5/11/2008

I want you to do your own investigation of scripture, and I want you to allow it to speak to you and tell you what is said. Don’t try to make the scripture fit your thoughts, but rather change your views so you will become as what is taught (1 Timothy 6:16). “Have you not read, that He which made them at the beginning, made them male and female. For this cause shall man leave father and mother and cleave to his wife. What God has joined together, let not man put asunder” (Matthew 19:4-5).

My questions are:
  • What did God create?
  • Why did God create this?
  • Can man do away with what God created and put something else in its place?
  • For example, can a man marry a tree, pet, or someone of the same sex?
  • Would such violate what has been established by the scripture? If not, why not?
  • Can this verse serve as a warning to man?

Send us your reply along with your contact information, so we can talk. Hope to hear from you or see you at the services.

Worship Has No Color

5/4/2008

Acceptable worship to God is to be in spirit and truth (John 4:24). In spirit means that one is to have the proper attitude toward the service which is to be offered to God (Romans 12:11). In truth means according to what the scriptures teach about how worship is to be conducted, so it will be acceptable to God (John 17:17).

If all men would follow what the Bible teaches about how to conduct worship, we wouldn’t have the terms, “black worship,” “white worship,” and “European worship.” Or the African American church, the white church, or any other term used to describe the church based on race. According to the Bible, there is no such thing as worship based upon the race of the people; for there is only one worship which God expects all men to offer to Him (Acts 10:34-35).
