How shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed to the Word of Almighty God (Psalm 119:9).
All across our land, young men are making the headlines for being shot dead or put in jail. It seems the way of crime is very attractive to them, and that is a shame because without repentance they will spend eternity in Hell. Some are too far gone, and they will suffer the consequences of a wasteful life. There is hope for others, however (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12; Jude 17-23). As the Psalmist wrote, a young man can get his life on the right track by obeying the word of God (1 Corinthians 15:1-2; Hebrews 5:9). Satan has poisoned the minds of men to believe that the Bible will cause them harm (2 Cor. 4:3-4). But the truth is, living a life without Bible teaching is where the harm comes. The Bible teaches that we should be a good citizen, be responsible, have a job, not have babies out of wedlock, that we should not sell drugs or doing other illegal activities, not have gun battles, etc. How is this a threat to a person unless that person wants to do evil? Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. "Lay not up for yourself treasures on earth, where moth and rust occur and thieves break in and steal,” (Matthew 6:19). "Rather lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven where neither moth, rust or thieves can take it away,” (Matt. 6:20).
Jesus said the most important thing isn’t money; instead it’s doing the will of God (Acts 8:20). The past few weeks have shown how our money can be here today and gone tomorrow. We must not make money our main goal in life and anyone who has, is suffering badly because of the stock market. Now that doesn’t mean that we aren’t to be concern about money; because saving for retirement and being fixed on Christ is one thing, and going though life with no interest in God is another (1 Timothy 6:10:17; James 5:1-3). Money is great to have, but we shouldn’t be obsessed with it because it cannot save us nor can we take it along after death (1 Timothy 6:7). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. For those raising children about two-years-old, you are now in the best position to teach godly values to your son or daughter (Ecclesiastes 12:1).
Number one, you are the parent, and never give that control over to the child and make sure your child knows that. Number two, set a wonderful example before your child and have your child follow that example and make sure it is the way of life in your home. Number three, make sure that your child understands disobedience carries punishment, and urge him to learn from the words of warning, rather than learning after suffering the consequences of wrong doing (Colossians 3:25; Proverbs 22:3). Number four, make sure that you understand that the word of God authorizes parents to discipline their children, and that you should do so in a manner that is pleasing in the eyes of the Creator (Hebrews 12:9; Prov. 22:6, 13:24, 19:18, 22:15, 29:15). Finally let me say that, having God and His word as part of your life is more important than anything. We cannot have great homes and neighborhoods without the infallible word serving as our guide (Psalm 119:105). I also know that people don’t want to hear about the Bible, but let God be true and every man a liar (Romans 3:4; 2 Timothy 4:1-5). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. Aggressive, unchecked liberalism is dangerous because it takes man away from where he ought to be (Colossians 2:8; Ephesians 4:14, 17-19). We have those who are so determined to have their beliefs established that they work hard to change the truths which God has established for the betterment of man (Genesis 1:31; Ecclesiastes 7:29).
For example just look across America. We have people saying that marriage can be changed to same sex. We have people advocating that there should be no mention of God in the public schools or government. There are those who deny the existence of God and the inspiration of Bible. There are those who advocate that babies can be aborted, and that all kinds of religious beliefs are good. Parents are criticized for using their right to discipline their children. All this is distressing, and it is not good for any nation (Proverbs 14:34; 11:11; Psalm 33:12; Gen. 6:5-6; 18:20-21). What we need to do is start reading the Word of God and doing what it commands, and then we can have better lives upon this earth (2 Chronicles 34:14-21; Deuteronomy 28:1-68).
