Being condescending is a tone of speech that makes listeners feel that the speaker is talking down to them (Genesis 44:14-15). The Bible teaches us to speak with words seasoned with salt and grace (Colossians 4:6). The Bible also teaches men to be careful with their words because emotion with its finger on the trigger of the tongue causes much damage (James 3:5-10). And the proud attitude of looking down on others, considering oneself to be so much better, is just plain ignorant (1 Corinthians 8:2; 1 Cor. 1:27). One of the virtues of being wise is to work with others on their level and understand that none is greater because of degrees from institutions of higher learning (1 Cor. 9:19-23; Romans 12:15-16; Matthew 18:1-5).
Such is true because all men die, and Jesus won’t judge men because of degrees or lack thereof (Ecclesiastes 3:18-21; Matt. 25:32-33). So let none of us be guilty of practicing condescending speech; instead let us speak to each other as equals because in the eyes of God we are (Acts 17:26; Acts 10:34-35; Rom. 2:11; Rom 3:23). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. In Matthew 17:8 we read, “when the disciples open their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.” So guess what? Man needs to see the same today. We don’t need anything else but the One who died for our sins and that is the Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ (Matt. 1:21; Acts 4:12). There is so much out there trying to get our attention, and many are asking that we pay money.
For example, we have a lot of authors writing so called self-development books and promoting those books on TV and radio, book signings, etc. But you don’t need their books, instead you need information from the One who will save you at the end of your life (John 5:24, 6:63:68, 8:51, 12:47). The words of a famous person on TV is simply his words, and those words have no saving power because chances are the words weren’t created by him. Also if you read his book, you will see that he took much from the words of the Bible. So all of those books are telling us how to be happy or how to have a great marriage, etc, are nothing new. Such information has already been spoken centuries ago by the Lord (Psalm 146:3-5). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. There may be someone trying to get away from association with a no good person, and if you are such a one, consider these Bible verses and act upon them quickly.
So get control of your life by dumping dead beats, and your first step should be toward the Lord. If you want to get your life right and if you are willing to let the word of God show you how, we want to hear from you. Hope you make the effort to savage your life and save your soul (Acts 2:40). “And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan; 2And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there. 3The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? 4And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that He which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? 6Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. 7They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? 8He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. 9And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery” (Matthew 19:1-9).
How much plainer could Jesus had made it concerning marriage, divorce, and tampering with what He has established? The warning to men is this: leave what God has proclaimed alone. Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. Colossians 3:18-21 gives a challenge to the family, so take a few moments to read the following verses and see how your life matches up.
18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. 19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them. 20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. 21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged. How did you match up? Is there any thing you need to change? Have you been doing what the Bible teaches in these matters? Only you dear reader can answer these questions, and they must be answered truthfully because your soul is at stake (Romans 14:11-12). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. |
