We hear a lot of people talking about the home, so what does God say about it? First of all, God is the one who created the home; he also placed male and female in that institution and enabled the female with the ability to produce offspring (Genesis 2:18, 22-25, 3:14-24, 4:1-2; Matthew 19:4-6; 1 Timothy 2:15, 5:1). God commanded man to be the head of the house ruling his home in righteousness (1 Corinthians 11:1-3; Ephesians 5:22-33; 1 Peter 3:1-7; Colossians 3:18-19).
Many states have been telling parents they cannot spank their child. The word of God gives the parent the authority to discipline a child, which includes spanking (Col. 3:20-21; Eph. 6:1-4; Hebrews 12:9-11; Proverbs 22:6, 10:1, 15:20, 22:15, 19:18, 13:24, 29:15). When a child is spanked in the way God dictates, there will be no broken bones, bruises, knocked out teeth, and other horror stories that we hear on the news. Many of us received beatings or whippings from our parents and it didn’t injure or kill us (Prov. 23:13-14). It made us better persons because we now respect authority (Prov. 10:13, 17:25, 19:29, 26:3). So you see, God has the profile of the family already set up, and all we need to do is follow what He has said (James 1:22-25; Matt. 7:24-29). We hope to hear from you or see you at the services. There are many attempting to predict the end of the world, and they claim the Bible has signs that will precede the end of time so a person can pretty much guess the date. Such is 100 percent false! Jesus said the end of the world is unknown to anyone except God the Father (Matthew 24:36).
Jesus plainly said there would be no signs to forewarn of his coming since he compared his arrival as a thief (Matt. 24:42-44; 1 Thessalonians 5:1-6). Now we all know a thief gives no warning before he breaks in—it is always unexpected. So will it be when the world comes to an end with the arrival of Jesus and the Judgment Day (Acts 17:31; 2 Peter 3:10). People will be going about their daily business, and all a sudden the Judgment Day will come upon us all (Matt 25:35-39; 24:42-51). Man has no way of knowing how close or when the world will end because God has made life that way, and the best thing we all can do is prepare ourselves. |
