A lot of couples have grown to hate, resent, and snap at each other to the point that they devour one another (Galatians 5:15). Constant warfare in households keep police and homicide detectives busy arresting and looking for clues to crimes. Just let a woman or man be murdered, and the spouse becomes a suspect.
Each married couple needs to realize that marriage is until death and only the innocent partner can divorce the unfaithful for adultery (Romans 7:1-3; Matthew 19:9, 5:32; Mark 10:11-12; Luke 16:18). If a couple does separate because of disagreements they must remain unmarried or work out the problem and return to their spouse (1 Corinthians 7:10-11). Many say they don't love each other anymore. In a case like that, both need to repent (Luke 13:3; Acts 17:30). Both promised in the vow of marriage to love each other until death, and they need to fulfill that promise to God (Ecclesiastes 5:2-6; Numbers 30:2; Deuteronomy 23:21-23).
