Here are some answers to some common questions.
Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. Mary was chosen by God to be the earthly mother of our Lord (Matthew 1:18-21; Luke 1:26-33). While this certainly was a special honor bestowed upon her, such a gesture did not mean that Mary was worthy of worship; instead worship is to be rendered to God and Him alone (Matt. 4:10; John 4:24; Acts 10:24-26). No one should be saying “hail Mary” instead men should be saying “hail Jesus” (Acts 4:12; Romans 12:11; Acts 2:47; Acts 3:8-9; Acts 9:15-16:2, 21; Hebrews 13:15; Rom. 10:13; John 9:24; 1 Peter 4:11; Ephesians 1:3; Luke 2:13-14; Luke 24:52-53; Romans 15:11; Acts 16:25; Eph. 5:19).

Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. A lot of couples have grown to hate, resent, and snap at each other to the point that they devour one another (Galatians 5:15). Constant warfare in households keep police and homicide detectives busy arresting and looking for clues to crimes. Just let a woman or man be murdered, and the spouse becomes a suspect.
Each married couple needs to realize that marriage is until death and only the innocent partner can divorce the unfaithful for adultery (Romans 7:1-3; Matthew 19:9, 5:32; Mark 10:11-12; Luke 16:18). If a couple does separate because of disagreements they must remain unmarried or work out the problem and return to their spouse (1 Corinthians 7:10-11). Many say they don't love each other anymore. In a case like that, both need to repent (Luke 13:3; Acts 17:30). Both promised in the vow of marriage to love each other until death, and they need to fulfill that promise to God (Ecclesiastes 5:2-6; Numbers 30:2; Deuteronomy 23:21-23). Many are asking, "Why are people so bad about being interested in church?" Only God and the person can answer that question. But I do know that a lot of people are looking for the wrong things when it comes to church attendance.
People should come to church because they are tired of a life of sin and want to seek truth with an interest in serving God faithfully until their death (John 6:45; Revelation 2:10; 2 Timothy 4:6-8). A person must have a love for his soul in order to faithfully go to church, for heaven isn't for everyone because most aren't willing to live right(Matthew 7:13-27). Too many come to church seeking money, food, etc. Some even come to check out a man or woman, with no interest in learning and applying truth to their lives. Others come for social events, weddings, or holiday services and beyond that you never see them. People aren't really looking for truth, they are looking for too many other things that can't help them as far as their soul is concern. Hope this article will encourage you to look for the truth (John 17:17; Matt. 5:6). Let us hear from you or see you at the services. Accepting the death of a loved one is never easy because of the emptiness and shock it gives us. But we shouldn’t be mad at the Lord because he has told us that we will die some day (James 4:15-16; Hebrews 9:27; Ecclesiastes 3:2, 19, 22). Also let’s not forget, we live in a temporal world with man also being temporary, for he is but dust (Genesis 3:19). So people must go on with life because the world continues, and if you don’t try to go on, you also will be dead (Eccl. 1:3-4).
That’s why it's so great to be a Christian. Having God in your life so he can take care of all your problems. Yes, you cannot make it in life without the Lord, because if we fail to serve him now what answer will we give him on Judgment Day? And if we don't believe in him, how can we have any hope after death? The best thing is to serve the Lord and have peace, for its the only way to be safe. There have been many kinds of days through out time.
Once Saturday stood for “the Sabbath,” a day of rest that was commanded by God. In Genesis 2:1-3, the Lord took a personal Sabbath, resting from the work of creating the world. When the Israelites left Egypt, God taught them to keep the Sabbath, and they did so until Christ took it away by His death on the cross (Exodus 20:8-11, 31:12-17; Colossians 2:13-17). However, we are writing about the first day of the week which is Sunday. In the Bible, this day is called the “Lord’s Day.” It is the day when the saints come together to observe the communion and give into the treasury of the local church (Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 16:1-4). It is to be a day when men do what God expects, and not use the day exclusively for their own selfish pursuits. Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. Singer, Sheryl Crow has a song years ago entitled; “If it makes you happy it can’t be that bad.” And such is the thinking of many today because they don’t care what they do or who they hurt, as long as they have happiness. The phrase, “I gotta be happy,” is as common as a glass of orange juice.
But man wasn’t put on this earth to obtain his own selfish happiness, instead we were put here to do the will of God (Matthew 7:10; Acts 10:35; Philippians 2:21). When one obeys the will of God he will walk in the way that is righteous and that will automatically produce happiness in the persons life (1 Peter 3:8-14; Psalm 1; Galatians 5:22-26; Phil. 4:4). In the Bible, we read of two Kings who committed great evils in order to make themselves happy. These sins cost one king his life, and the other one was driven from his kingdom for a period of time by his own son (2 Samuel 11, 12; 1 Kings 21). So let us seek to please others as well as ourselves. We hope to hear from you or see you at the services. We hear a lot of people talking about the home, so what does God say about it? First of all, God is the one who created the home; he also placed male and female in that institution and enabled the female with the ability to produce offspring (Genesis 2:18, 22-25, 3:14-24, 4:1-2; Matthew 19:4-6; 1 Timothy 2:15, 5:1). God commanded man to be the head of the house ruling his home in righteousness (1 Corinthians 11:1-3; Ephesians 5:22-33; 1 Peter 3:1-7; Colossians 3:18-19).
Many states have been telling parents they cannot spank their child. The word of God gives the parent the authority to discipline a child, which includes spanking (Col. 3:20-21; Eph. 6:1-4; Hebrews 12:9-11; Proverbs 22:6, 10:1, 15:20, 22:15, 19:18, 13:24, 29:15). When a child is spanked in the way God dictates, there will be no broken bones, bruises, knocked out teeth, and other horror stories that we hear on the news. Many of us received beatings or whippings from our parents and it didn’t injure or kill us (Prov. 23:13-14). It made us better persons because we now respect authority (Prov. 10:13, 17:25, 19:29, 26:3). So you see, God has the profile of the family already set up, and all we need to do is follow what He has said (James 1:22-25; Matt. 7:24-29). We hope to hear from you or see you at the services. |
