Your Word Should Be Enough

10/21/2012

Why do the courts allow people to swear on the Bible? Don’t they understand that the very Bible they are swearing upon condemns making oaths? (Matthew 5:33-37; James 5:12). The teachings of the Bible are there for the safety of man. God is trying to save man from himself by telling him not to swear an oath because if man swears an oath, he will be held accountable even if things turn bad (Judges 11:30-40; Ecclesiastes 5:1-6; Acts 23:12-13). A person’s reputation should be credible so that his word of “yes, I will” or “no, I won’t” should be enough (Colossians 4:6; Matt. 5:37).

We Only Need Jesus

10/14/2012

(This information is for those who believe the Bible is God’s word)

In Matthew 17:8, we read “when the disciples open their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.” So guess what? Man needs to see the same today. We don’t need anything else but the One who died for our sins and that is the Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ (Matt. 1:21; Acts 4:12).

There is so much out there trying to get our attention, and many are asking that we pay money. For example, we have a lot of authors writing so called self-devoplement books and promoting those books on television, radio, book signings, etc. But you don’t need their books, instead you need information from the One who will save you at the end of your life (John 5:24; John 6:63,68; John 8:51; John 12:47). The words of a famous person are simply his words, and those words have no saving power because chances are the words weren’t created by him. Also if you read his book, you will see that he took much from the words of the Bible. So all those books telling us how to be happy, have a great marriage, etc, are nothing new. Such information has already been spoken centuries ago by the Lord (Psalm 146:3-5).

Evil Men Get Worse

10/7/2012

The world is full of decisions that are wrong. Just consider some of the actions done by men this year. Redefining marriage. Suicide bombers. Killing dogs and cats, just for the fun of it. Women saying they like dating bad boys, but expecting those bad boys to show faithful behavior. A robber talking about shooting his victim because the victim disrespected him. People doing the same things that got others in trouble and not learning from the errors of those persons. A unborn child gets aborted because his parents don’twant him. Troops being shoot and killed by those whom they are training. A guy being robbed inside a major supermarket by three men in the frozen food isle.

Yes, the Bible is true, evil men will get worse and worse (2 Timothy 3:1-4,13).
