Why do the courts allow people to swear on the Bible? Don’t they understand that the very Bible they are swearing upon condemns making oaths? (Matthew 5:33-37; James 5:12). The teachings of the Bible are there for the safety of man. God is trying to save man from himself by telling him not to swear an oath because if man swears an oath, he will be held accountable even if things turn bad (Judges 11:30-40; Ecclesiastes 5:1-6; Acts 23:12-13). A person’s reputation should be credible so that his word of “yes, I will” or “no, I won’t” should be enough (Colossians 4:6; Matt. 5:37).
Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. (This information is for those who believe the Bible is God’s word)
In Matthew 17:8, we read “when the disciples open their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.” So guess what? Man needs to see the same today. We don’t need anything else but the One who died for our sins and that is the Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ (Matt. 1:21; Acts 4:12). There is so much out there trying to get our attention, and many are asking that we pay money. For example, we have a lot of authors writing so called self-devoplement books and promoting those books on television, radio, book signings, etc. But you don’t need their books, instead you need information from the One who will save you at the end of your life (John 5:24; John 6:63,68; John 8:51; John 12:47). The words of a famous person are simply his words, and those words have no saving power because chances are the words weren’t created by him. Also if you read his book, you will see that he took much from the words of the Bible. So all those books telling us how to be happy, have a great marriage, etc, are nothing new. Such information has already been spoken centuries ago by the Lord (Psalm 146:3-5). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. The world is full of decisions that are wrong. Just consider some of the actions done by men this year. Redefining marriage. Suicide bombers. Killing dogs and cats, just for the fun of it. Women saying they like dating bad boys, but expecting those bad boys to show faithful behavior. A robber talking about shooting his victim because the victim disrespected him. People doing the same things that got others in trouble and not learning from the errors of those persons. A unborn child gets aborted because his parents don’twant him. Troops being shoot and killed by those whom they are training. A guy being robbed inside a major supermarket by three men in the frozen food isle.
Yes, the Bible is true, evil men will get worse and worse (2 Timothy 3:1-4,13). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services One’s word is his bond; so do you complete what you say? Or do you tell lies? Some people lie all day long, and they are so good at it. They can smile and cough at the same time (Proverbs 14:5). Let us not be champion liars, but people who only speak if able to deliver what is promised (Prov. 30:8).
Everything that comes out of one’s mouth will fall on the ears of someone who will be relying upon what has been spoken. And just that fact alone should make every one determined to make good on what is spoken. If you don’t mean it, don’t say it, and you won’t get in trouble for it (Ecclesiastes 5:1-5). There is just too much of this nonsense going on and too many ruined people walking around because of it (Prov. 29:12; Zecheriah 10:2; Ezekiel 13:22; Jeremiah 29:31, 23:32). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services Ever wonder what the dead are doing? According to the word of God, only the deeds of what was done in life follow the dead (Revelation 14:13). The dead cannot take anything with them, and neither can they work on new projects because their laboring is over and only the Judgment awaits (Ecclesiates 9:4-10; Hebrews 9:27; 1 Timothy 6:7; Psalm 49:17; Job 1:21). Which means that a dead person only has the time to rejoice in or regret the deeds done in life (Luke 16:19-31). Once dead, one cannot change his fate, so man must be prepared at the precise moment of death (John 8:21-24; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:37-47; John 3:14-21).
So, anyone that has passed on is either in comfort or agony, based on how they lived while on earth. How are you living your life? Hope to hear from you or see you at the services Last Tuesday was the remembrance of 9/11, and the wounds are still fresh in the hearts of husbands, wives, parents, neighbors, and other loved ones of those who died in the evil act. It is beyond words or thoughts, how anyone could devise the kind of wickness we saw on that day and claim they are doing the will of God (Jeremiah 23:21-22, 23:25-32). No, it was not the word of God that taught those young men to fly planes into buildings. Instead those men, along with many others spent much time being taught the doctrine of Satan (John 8:44; Ezekiel 13:3-10; Isaiah 9:16; Matthew 15:13-14; 2 Peter 2:1-3).
God has made it clear that vengence is His and He will repay (Romans 12:19. But these men sat at the feet of false teachers who told them their people had been done wrong by the U.S. and that revenge was the way to get even. So now all this death is a reality, tearing lives apart and ruining dreams. But God will judge false teachers and students who have been mislead by the teaching they have accepted. Hope to hear from you or see you at the services When you are ready to get right with God, I would like you to read the following scriptures: Acts 2:36-42, 8:35-39, 16:29-33, 9:17-19, 10:47-48.
Afterward ask yourself three questions:
Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. Here are some reasons people give for not going to church. “It’s not necessary.” “I’m not interested.” “I don’t want to go to church.” “I’m too busy.” “I don’t believe in church, God, heaven, or hell.” “I can worship God without assembling with others.” “The church always asks for money.” “The preacher preached at me.” “There are too many rules.” “None of the churches teach the same doctrine.” “Church is boring” “There are too many hypocrites in church.” “This is 2008, not ancient times.” “I don’t have clothes fit for church.” etc.
Some of those reasons aren’t without merit, and some need clarification, but there are others that are ridiculous. Space will not permit answers for all that has been said, but allow me to say this. Jesus built a church (Matthew 16:18). The Bible teaches that God adds the saved to that church (Acts 2:27). Jesus will save the church from the fires of hell (Ephesians 5:23). The members came together on Sunday to give of their money, and observe the communion (1 Corinthians 16:1-4; Acts 20:7). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. For those raising children about two-years-old, you are now in the best position to teach godly values to your son or daughter (Ecclesiastes 12:1). Number one, you are the parent and never give that control over to the child and make sure he knows that. Number two, set a wonderful example before your child and have him follow that example and make sure it is the way of life in your home. Number three, make sure that your child understands that disobedience carries punishment, and urge him to learn from the words of warning, rather than learning after suffering the consequences of wrong doing (Colossians 3:25; Proverbs 22:3). Number four, make sure that you understand that the word of God authorizes parents to discipline their children and to do so in a manner which is pleasing in the eyes of the Creator (Hebrews 12:9; Proverbs 22:6, 13:24, 19:18, 22:15, 29:15).
Finally let me say that having God and His word is more important than anything. We cannot have great homes and neighborhoods without the infallible Word serving as our guide (Psalm 119:105). I also know that people don’t want to hear about the Bible, but let God be true and every man a liar (Romans 3:4; 2 Timothy 4:1-5). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. “The eyes of the Lord are in every place watching the evil and the good” (Proverbs 15.3).
God knows who murdered Nicole Brown Simpson. God knows who torched the black church buildings in the South in the Sixties. God knows who shot and killed the person whose body was found on the side walk last night that you read about in the paper. God knows all religious hypocrites who claim to be holy, but are corrupt human beings doing evil in the dark. God knows those who are cheating on their spouses. God knows who that masked man is that robbed the 7/11 store. God knows where the top four criminals profiled this week on America’s Most Wanted are hiding out. God knows what happen to the people pictured on milk cartons. God knows where your lost wallet is. God knows where the body of Jimmy Hoffa is. God knows where the deadbeat parents of abandoned children are. Though God knows all things, he doesn’t always take care of things right away. There is a Day of Judgment coming in which he will judge the world by rewarding everyone according to their works (Ecclesiastes 12:14; Acts 17:31; 1 Corinthians 4:5; Romans 2:16; Matthew 10:26; Rom. 14:10-12. Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. |
