If you are married, don’t commit adultery! (Romans 13:9). You have a wife, you have a husband; so improve your relationship with your spouse and leave others alone (Ephesians 5:24-33; Titus 2:1-5; 1 Peter 3:1-7; Colossians 3:18-19; 1 Cor. 7:1-4). Don’t place yourself in awkward and questionable situations with the opposite sex which may give rise to temptation (Proverbs 5:1-23, 6:24-35, 7:1-27; Genesis 39:7-13). Marriage is the God given union of a man and a woman and God has established the marriage bond to last till death (Gen. 2:18-25; Matthew 19:1-6; Romans 7:1-3).
Both parties are to forsake all others as far as dating is concern and be joined as one flesh (Eph. 5:31). So forget that good looking co-worker, pool guy, neighbor, stranger, etc. Don’t get into checking out other people, just check out your spouse and keep your eyes there only (Matt. 5:27-28; 2 Samuel 11:2-27). And to the unmarried, don’t desire a married person. If you know they are married the game is over; hands off! A married person should not even be appealing to a unmarried person simply because the person is married (Gen. 12.17-20). Yet we hear some talking about how “hot” some married person is and how they would love to have sex with that person. (Hebrews 13.4).
