“All who are weary, come unto me and I shall give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28).
These are the words of the Savior, Jesus Christ, as He invites men to know Him. Yes, come as you are, but don’t stay as you are (Hebrews 3:14; Revelation 3:20). The Lord wants you to learn of Him. “Take my yoke upon you and learn of Me” (Matt. 11:29). After learning of Him, Jesus expects change in order to be like Him. No person can be like Christ without changing their life and making it according to the instructions of the Savior (1 Peter 2:21-25). This is true because man is sinful and cannot have a relationship with Christ without change (Romans 3:23; John 6:45; Acts 3:19). Man must be born again; so there will have to be ceasing of some deeds and the beginning of others (John 3:1-7). Are you listening? Are you ready? Are you willing to see what you must do to be saved from hell? Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. Does the existence of evil in a neighborhood prove that no law-abiding people live there? Have you ever seen evil taking place but chose not to get involved? And did your refusal prove that you don’t exist? We can be assured that God sees all the pain and trouble that takes place upon the earth (Proverbs 15:3). But God never said that He would take away the troubles of life, instead He warned us about it (Job 14:1; Genesis 3:17-19, 6:5; Matthew 24:6-13; 2 Timothy 3:1-4). God will deliver men from evil on occasions, but He never said that He would save men from every evil or take pain and suffering completely away from the earth (Daniel 3:16-18, 6:19-22; Acts 7:59-60, 9:1-2, 12:1-11).
God has His reasons why He will not do certain things, just like we do, and we should not be judging God. For example someone will say, “How can a loving God let that happen?” Such a statement is judging the Almighty; telling the Creator that He needs to check Himself (Romans 9:20-21). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. Saving for a rainy day is supported by the principles of God’s word. Just look at the example of the young man who got his inheritance and wasted it on partying (Luke 15:11-13). Had he not done so, money would have been left for him to live on (Luke 15:14-17). In Proverbs 21:20, the Bible teaches that wise men will have money in their accounts, while foolish men blow it. Ephesians 4:28 teaches for men to work and have surplus funds to help those in need. Matthew 25:27 teaches that the lazy servant could have put his Master’s money in the bank were it could have gain interest.
Jesus taught that we should “count the cost” before doing anything, and that, certainly, can be applied to the use of money. Money isn’t something that we should be in lovewith because it can’t be taken with us at death (Matthew 6:19-21; 1 Timothy 6:7-10; Job 1:21; Psalm 49:15-20). But that doesn’t mean for us to waste money today and not be able to pay the rent tomorrow (Ecclesiastes 11:1-2). This is great advice from the Bible, so think before you spend. Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. I been studying the Bible for years, and I have never seen in God’s word that the church must change in order to fit into a progressive world. In other words, “church you either change or get left behind, ending up on the wrong side of history.” All this is ridiculous! The church is to teach the infallible word of God which lasts forever (Matthew 24:35; 1 Peter 1:22-25). God isn’t on the same page with men because He doesn’t think like men (Isaiah 55:8-9). Mankind is in sin, so God gives us His word, which cleanses us and shows us how to be holy as He is holy (Psalm 14:2-3; Romans 6:12-18; 1 Peter 1;13-16). What is suppose to be happening is mankind is to give up sin and change to fit what the word of God said and not the other way around (Rom. 12:2; 1 Pet. 1:14).
Just look at what is going on today. There is a new generation that doesn’t know God (Judges 2:10). This generation is doing what is right in the eyes of men, promoting all kinds of sinful things, and they have no clue that the road leads to hell (Proverbs 16:25; Matt. 7:13-14). God is everlasting and so is His word. Man is the one who needs change. The word which the church preaches is infallible and cannot be refuted. So the church doesn’t have to change to fit anything—people must hear the word and change to fit the word. So, let the church preach the word, and listeners make change as the word instructs (Psalm 90:1-2, 12:6-7, 119:89; 2 Timothy 4:1-5). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. A man of faith running for public office is often targeted with questions about his beliefs and how such will affect his job performance. First of all, anyone running for public office would be insane to refuse help from God (1 Kings 9:2-7). But understand this, God is only going to help those who are faithful (Psalm 34:8-17). So if a president desires help from God, he must be doing what is pleasing to God. For there is no way that God will bless a President who is passing laws that are in conflict with His word (Proverbs 14:34, 11:11; Psalm 33:10-22; 1 Kings 15:25-26, 16:29-34).
If homosexuality, abortion, and gambling are contrary to the laws of God, no person of faith in public office can approve of such things. A man of faith is to live by what he knows is right in the eyes of God (2 Chronicles 26:3-5). Also the President will have the best interest of the nation in mind if he vetoes bills that establish sinful practices (2 Kings 18:1-8). Our nation is supposed to be a Christian nation founded upon religious principles. So why do we get angry and suspicious of a person with morals? Could it be be that most of us have no morals, and we are threaten by those who do? Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. Don’t stay away from church because you are poor. (There is no admission charge). Because you are rich. (Money isn’t all). Because it is cold and rainy. (You go other places in bad weather). Because it is hot. (So is the beach and golf course). Because no one invited you. (People go lots of places uninvited). Because of hypocrites. (We have them everywhere). Because you have relatives from out of town. (Bring them along). Because you have children. (We offer Bible classes for them). Because you think your clothes don’t look good. (God isn’t concern about that). Because you don’t like the preacher. (You shouldn’t hate anyone). Because the church is always asking for money. (We don’t do that here). Because you think that you have plenty of time. (Life is short and uncertain) (Psalm 144:4).
“Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before before the Lord” (Psalm 95:6). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. It’s too bad that some spouses get mad because the other makes more money, and this is especially true when it concerns some men. There have been wives complaining about husbands who detest their ability to earn more. But as long as the wife is doing her duty as a wife and not neglecting the husband or the home, and the money goes to help everyone; what is the big deal? (Proverbs 31:10-31).
I’ll tell you what the big deal is! Some people just have to be the main event. Some people are jealous of anyone who is more successful, and that is just plain wrong (Genesis 4:3-7, 37:1-11; 1 Samuel 18:5-15; Matthew 2:1-18, 27:18; Mark 15:10; Romans 13:13, 1:29; 1 Corinthians 13:4; Galatians 5:26; 1 Peter 2:1; Titus 3:3; James 3:16; Phillipians 1:15; 1 Timothy 6:4). Two working persons in a marriage will not make the same wage. Someone will earn more and the other less. Everyone should accept that and be thankful at the success of the combined incomes which help both persons live a more comfortable life. Stop being jealous, it’s wrong! Hope to hear from you or see you at the services The trumpet that will announce the end of the world will be a shocker! I cannot imagine what the volume of the blast will be like, but be assured it will be loud because the sound will be heard around the world! (Matthew 24:31; 1 Corinthians 15:52; 1 Thessalonians 4:16; 2 Peter 3:7-11).
For those who don’t have a clue as to what I’m talking about, allow me to tell you that regardless of what the atheists say, count on hearing a trumpet from heaven announcing the world is ending and for all to stand before God and be judged (2 Cor. 5:10). Also on that Day the dead will be raised and they too will be judged (John 5:28-29). To anyone who hasn’t been taught about God, life after death, etc, this might sound like fiction. But ask yourself, ’Don’t you think men must pay the piper?” (Hebrews 4:13). Man can live on God’s green earth soaking in His goodness and not have to face Him one day? No, fiction is believing the opposite, that one can enjoy something that doesn’t belong to him and not have to answer for it. Yes, that is the real fiction. Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. “Can’t you just be happy for me?” Some will say while arguing their involvement in some matter. However, in order to be happy for someone we must agree with their choice. Otherwise, it will be support of that which isn’t approved. Being happy for someone should cause us to look at the matter and see if any law is being broken. For example, why should we be happy for a person who didn’t get caught while cheating on taxes? So, you see that people could be involved in sinful things when asking people to be happy for them. But, any God-fearing person cannot honor that request because sin is wrong (1 Timothy 5:20-22).
So yes, we will be happy for you, as long as you aren’t trying to make sin appear to be respectful. Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. When visitors come to a church, the members should make them feel welcome. There are people who would visit a church, but they might not know anything about church doctrine or the people, so they feel apprehensive. But the members of the church must realize that it is their duty to walk over and introduce themselves and make the visitor feel relaxed because no visitor should ever have to introduce himself. The church members shouldn’t smother the visitor with too many questions nor should church members pressure visitors for phone numbers or addresses. The church may mention that visitors cards are available, but a visitor cannot be pressured nor made to feel obligated to fill out one. If a visitor wishes to become a member of that church, he should continue to visit in order to get to know the church members and find out what is taught.
So yes, there is no need to be afraid to visit, just come and you will find potential friends (Micah 4:1-2; Psalm 122:1; 1 Corinthians 14:23-25; Genesis 28:16-17). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. |
