Hello and how are you doing? I have some questions for you. When you woke up this morning, did you thank God for a new day? Did you say good morning to your family as you went about the house? Did you help your family get ready for school, work or whatever else? Did you wish them a great day and give them your love? Did you tell them; “Lord willing, I’ll see you later?” (James 4:13-15; Luke 12:16-21; Psalm 100:4-5).
Did you greet others as you went out today? Did you encourage and lend a helping hand to make someone better by lightening their load? At the end of the day, can others say that you were a breath of fresh air to them? Did you give everything your best effort so that when the day is done you can say, “I gave it 100%.” Many went out this morning but failed to return. But since you have been blessed to arrive at home, did you thank God and greet your family? Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. Divisions among men are many. A Christian doesn’t believe what a Jew or Muslim does about the deity of Jesus Christ. A Baptist will not accept the Latter Day Saints claiming that the book of Mormon is inspired. The Jehovah’s Witnesses will knock on the door of a Catholic, and there will be no agreement on the authority of the Pope, blood transfusions, and the establishment of a paradise earth. A Gay rights activist will not agree when someone reads what the Bible has to say about sex, marriage, and homosexual conduct.
None of these issues have to exist, and they would disappear if men sought answers from the right source. Instead, people spend time talking about what they think and how they feel. However, such is worthless, because men don’t have a heaven nor hell in which to place anyone. The Bible claims to be the word of God, and it has existed before any of the other so called self-help books. We ask you to give the Bible a try. Allow it to show the way, and the truth will be known. If you desire help studying the Bible, let us know because we will be happy to help. Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. “I tried the church thing and it didn’t work. I’m still in debt, and I don’t have a spouse yet; so I decided to quit church.” So say some who attempt to explain why they don’t go to church anymore. First of all, these people got into the church for the wrong reason. The church is like Noah’s ark—we come into the church to be saved, meaning we desire salvation for our souls and not freedom from earthly struggles (Ephesians 5:23; John 10:9; Colossians 1:13; Acts 2:47).
Coming to church expecting to get a spouse and have debts cleared misses the point of what salvation is for. Now, it is true that God will help with our loads, but no one should be expecting to have all their burdens cleared. Burdens are a part of the Christian walk; that is why God teaches other Christians to help others with their burdens and to develop patience and perseverance (Romans 15:1-2; Galatians 6:2; Revelation 2:25-26; James 1:4; Acts 14:22). Also, some of these people didn’t properly apply God’s word, and that is why their stay in the church was unfruitful. If we want God to touch our lives we need to make sure that our motives are right and that we are following all that He has said. Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. Recently, it was said that a percentage of Americans are changing from the religion of their childhood. Well, that can be a good thing or it can be a bad thing. For example, the Bible teaches that Jesus built one church (Matthew 16:18). Also the Bible warns of the existence of false doctrine (2 Peter 2:1-2; Colossians 2:8,18). Now consider this, if a person is a member of a church that the Lord didn’t establish, that person is in false teaching (Mark 7:7; Matthew 15:13-14; 2 John 7-11).
In order to be saved, one must leave error behind, and that is a good thing. But on the other hand, if that person is in a church where the truth is taught, and he leaves that church after falling victim to false teaching, that is bad (2 Peter 3:14-18). Since it is possible to be wrong, you shouldn’t leave a church, unless that church is proven by the word of God to be in error (Acts 18:24-28; Acts 19:1-5).
