Some people just cannot get enough of movie stars. A great deal of time is spent talking about, following them on twitter or trying to match up with their lives as much as possible; in other words be like the “celebrities”. But what about your own life? Don’t you matter?
The Bible warns against “people fascination.”
“Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord. That person will be like a bush in the wastelands; they will not see prosperity when it comes. They will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives. But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” Jeremiah 17:5-8
Why spend time being fascinated with people who you will never get to meet? If enough time is spend being around movies stars, one will probably see how self centered many of them are and will want nothing farther to do with them. What people need to do is to take an interest in themselves and consider where they will spend eternity once this life is over (Hebrews 9:27; 2 Corinthians 5:10).
Hope to hear from you or see you at the services.
