The Bible is indeed a very old book. It is old fashion and out of date with what people are doing today. Yes, that we will admit because people today are a law unto themselves, they do what they want. Judges 21.25
We don’t agree with how people live because most people aren’t living according to the instructions taught in the Bible. But the Lord has left it up to every person to make their own decision as to how they will live. Thing is, in the end the bible will be the standard by which men will be judged. Rev 20.12. The lives of men will be examined to see if their deeds match what is taught in the scripture. And if that isn’t the case, those souls will be cast into hell. Rev 20.13-15. Now a person may laugh at this, but it is the truth. The bible may be old, but it is the word of God and that word is eternal and will be here when the earth is gone. Matt 24.35. Psa 119.89.152. 1 Peter 1.22-25. So, the best thing for anyone is to forget how old the bible is and just obey it and save your soul. Matt 7.21-27. We won’t make heaven by doing what we want. We must do what God wants. "I'm a good person" and you might very well be. But I want you to understand this. No one is like God, because all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Rom 3:23. With that being the case and none are worthy of the Lord. Isa 64:6. The only way that men can have a relationship with God is to become like God and I mean to develop ways like God so we can walk with Him. 1 Peter 1:13-17 Isa 1:10-20
Cornelius was a good person you can read of his work, but it wasn't a sure thing. Acts 10:1-2. He had to repent and accept the things required of him by the Lord. Acts 10:34-48. So yes, I believe you are a good person; but all good persons have been commanded by God to repent. Acts 17:30. "I tell you, unless you repent, you will all perish." (Jesus) Luke 13.3 If you have been given the privilege to help another person who has a physical or mental disability; you need to be ethical. You have been given the chance to make a difference for a person, who otherwise would have a hard time existing without help and that is an honor and it is a privilege. You should be humbled to help assist in their existence.
Therefore, do the best that you can for them. Look out for all their interest. Make sure they are well taken care of in everything and yield not to the temptation to take advantage of the weak. Those who do so are the worst of the worst. They are vampires, feeding off helpless souls who cannot fend for themselves. Don?t be a vampire. Be ethical and do your best. Never enrich your pockets by stealing money marked for their welfare and leaving them to suffer as a result. Be ethical. Be human. Have love for a helpless person in need of assistance. Do what is right and imagine what you would want if you had to depend on a caretaker. (And one day, you might) The eyes of the Lord are upon you and at any time, you can join the list of vampires who have been exposed mistreating and stealing from those whom they were supposed to be taking care of. Job 5:21-22. Pro 5:21 Pro15.3. Gal 6:7-8 Recently, standing by a bus sign and waiting for the H bus; I watched it picking up passengers 3 blocks down the street and then slowly coming toward me. As it got closer, I picked up my bags and stood ready for the bus to pull up to where I was standing and allow me to get on. But as it got closer, it moved into the left lane of the two lane street and just passed me by! It didn't stop where I was standing, even as I started waving my hands yelling for it to notice me.
Surprised and bewildered, I stood there for a few moments; then glanced at the bus sign where I stood and the H bus wasn't listed. I picked up my bags and walked the 3 blocks to where I observed the bus picking up passengers and took a look at that sign. The H bus was listed on that sign and that is why the bus stopped there and even though both signs were on the same street only 3 blocks apart, it only stopped at the selected points. I thought because the bus ran on that street, it would stop at every sign. But that was not the case. The point of all this is; whatever you do. Make sure it is certain. Make sure you can see it as precisely clear as day. Don?t assume! Make all things as sure as you can. Matt 27:65-66. |
