It’s amazing what some demand of God in order for them to believe. Matt 27.39-44.
Mark 8.11-12. News flash! It isn’t supposed to be that way! God created mankind and He gives us life and goodness daily. Acts 17.24-28. Therefore, He doesn’t have to prove anything. It’s the other way around, man needs to do some proving to God. Romans 9.20-21. Man can start proving himself worthy of God by simply accepting and believing that He is. Hebrew 11:6 1 Peter 1:8-9. This is all man needs to do, and this is all God needs to allow. As His creation, we owe Him all the respect that we can give and we don’t need to insult Him by making a foolish statement challenging Him to do something to convince us of His existence.

This time last year, we were looking for a portable baptism pool. It had to be big enough and deep enough to immerse a person completely.
Rom 6.4 teaches that baptism is a burial in water which washes away our sins. Acts 22.16. The equipment used to carry out baptisms must be compatible to do the job. We did find our pool. John the Baptist used the river Jordon to baptize his converts because much water was there. John 1.28. John 3.22. Today, churches need much water in order to baptize people as the scriptures teach. Hebrew 10.22. Titus 34-5 We wouldn’t consider a cup, glass, bucket, or water hose for baptism. There have been many kinds of days throughout time. Once Saturday stood for “the Sabbath”,
a day of rest that was commanded by God. In Gen 2:1-3, the Lord took a personal Sabbath, resting from the work of creating the world. When the Israelites left Egypt, God taught them to keep the Sabbath and they did so until Christ took it away by His death on the cross. Ex 20:8-11. Ex 31:12-17. Col 2:13-17. However, we are writing about the first day of the week which is Sunday. In the bible, this day is called the “Lord’s Day”. It is the day when the saints come together to observe the communion and give into the treasury of the local church. Acts 20:7. 1 Cor 16:1-4. It is to be a day when men do what God expects, and not use the day exclusively for their own selfish pursuits. If a man has $75,000 in the bank plus $100,000 investment in gold bars,
he has real estate of 90 acres and he also has stocks and bonds valuing up to $325,000. If you heard that; you would say that this man's portfolio is very great. However, if a man invested believing that wealth is what life is all about; he could die in a second and that would all go to someone else. Luke 12.13-21. Jas 4.13-15. Jesus taught not to place much emphasis upon material things. He said it could be lost and thieves could steal it. Matt 6.19-24 People today find it hard to break away from the things of this life and to think about the hereafter. Matt 19.20-23. But everyone must do so, because none is going to live forever. Heb 9.27 Man will be going into the hereafter and needs to make sure preparation is made. Heb 4.13 I have obeyed the gospel of Jesus Christ. I listen to the story of how he came to this earth to rid men of their sins, by having men be baptized in water to have those sins washed away. I responded when the preacher said is there anyone who wants to be saved? I was taken to the baptism pool and I was immersed in water. I came up out of the water ready to serve in the Kingdom of God. Every morning when I get up; I always ask myself what can I do to make my service better? Whoever is reading this; if you have not listened to a sermon on the gospel of Christ, his mission to save men.
You need to contact this church. We will teach you the message of salvation. Afterwards, you can do what I did, you can be baptized in water and have your sins washed away. Then start a new walk in the way of the Lord. Romans 6.1-17 Some believers find themselves being the only saved person in a city. This isn’t a very good feeling, because the saint is surrounded by all kinds of perverted behavior without backup from other believers. Even the apostle Paul felt that way while he was in Athens awaiting the arrival of other saints to help him with the evangelism. The bible teaches us that his spirit burned as he saw the whole city addicted to sin. Acts 17.13-16.
And remember this, Athens was addicted to sin because no one had ever challenged the life that they were living. And that is where it will begin for every believer who finds himself in such a situation. The system of living will need someone to stand up and say, “I want to show you another way!” Acts 17.22. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m positive that won’t be easy, but people who stand up are counted by many, as worthy of respect. . Jesus knew it was best to send teachers two by two, that way they could encourage one another. Luke 10.1. Eccl 4.9-12. Let us not be afraid, the Lord is with us. Acts 18.9-10. Pray about it and get ourselves pumped up and do what you can, but never plan to keep yourself alone, find a believer willing to work with you. Acts 8.5-15. Acts 13.1-5. It was great to get out of bed and start a new day. I’m a person who has obeyed the gospel of Christ. I have repented of sin, confessed the name of the Lord and been baptized in water to have my sins washed away. Luke 13.3. Rom 10.9-10. Acts 2.38. Acts 22.16. Because I have done so, I’m a new creature, a child of God and I show appreciation for the little things which many people overlook.
2 Cor 5.17. Rom 6.1-17. I appreciate God force field of protection which He coats me with, as I go out among men. Psa 23rd chapter. Psa 34.7. With the word of the Lord installed in my mind, I’m able to confront the challenge of evil and error and to successfully push back. Eph 6. 10-18. Hebrews 13.6. Thank God! At the end of each day, I can sleep at night, knowing that God is keeping order and if its His will, I get a chance to get up and do it all over again. But what about you? You can have the same assurance in life, but only if you obey the gospel of Christ. Rom 1.16. Can we help you do so? A man said that when he teaches a bible class or preaches, he goes deep.
What is he saying? What does he mean about the word deep? Is he talking over the students -heads? Does he think he is smarter and better than his listeners? I don’t know the answer to that, but I do know that teachers need to educate on a level that gets understanding from their listeners. The church at Corinth was admonished by the apostle Paul to make sure that the audience understood every word. 1 Corinthians 15.1-33. It’s ridiculous to read or listen to a sermon if the speaker is making it difficult. Philip the evangelist asked a man “Do you understand what you are reading?” He asked that because it was important. So, make sure you know the audience to whom you are speaking and give them the understanding they need. Pro 4.7. Eph 5. 17. Two men who didn’t agree on what the Bible teaches, sat down to discuss their differences.
One of the men brought his bible and had scriptures prepared to read to the other guy. However, the other guy didn’t bring a Bible; he just came empty handed. Where is your bible the first man asked? Oh, I didn’t plan to bring one, I just want you to hear me out on this subject. The man who brought his bible said, no thanks, I don’t want to hear what you have to say. What you have to say can’t do anything for you or me. I want to hear what God has to say and that is why I brought my Bible. Matt 17.5 If you can get your hands on a bible you will have no problem seeing I’m telling you the truth.
Acts 17:11. According to the bible, no man is the head of the church (Eph 5:23. Col 1:18. Eph 1:22-23). That honor goes to Jesus because He is the builder of the church. Matt 16:16-19. While men have churches which they established and men serving as the head of those churches; such isn’t right because no man has the right to establish a church; instead men must build upon the foundation Jesus established. 1 Cor 3:11. Churches started by men have no salvation because they are founded by men building upon sand, Matt 7:24-27. In a region no man has the biblical authority to serve as head over churches in that area. In the bible, each local church was self govern having its own overseers which are two or more men serving in the office called the Eldership or Bishops. Acts 20:17-28. Phil 1:1. People aren’t following the bible, instead they are doing as they please and expect God to accept them but God will not be doing so. Matt 7:13-23. Matt 15:7-14. Mark 7:7-9. 2 Tim 4:3-4. |
