Words of the week

Moses and Aaron told Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord, Let my people go, that they may serve Me.    Pharaoh replied, Who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice?  I don’t know the Him and neither will I let the Israelites go.  Ex 5.1-2
 
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity.

We know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.  1 John 2.3

When we know someone, that means we have a relationship with them. We see that the Pharaoh of Egypt had no relationship with the Lord, therefore he didn't know Him.  On the Judgment Day there will be people who think Jesus knows them; but such won’t be the case.  Jesus will tell them to get away from Him!    Finally, the only way to be sure we know God and that He knows us, is to keep His commandments.   The Pharaoh didn’t and those people on the Judgment Day haven’t not either.
