Words of the Week

​ “Be subject for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme, or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to praise those who do right. For it is God’s will that by doing right you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish men.”2 Peter 2.13-15

We can see that it is the intent of the Lord, for his people to have law abiding lives, so they don’t bring the wrath of the state upon them.  The wrath of the state is to be felt by law breakers.   These people must understand that if wrong is done, somebody must pay.  Col 3.25.  The power of the government to punish the evildoer is real.  Rom 13.3-5.
