One of the quickest ways to become someone’s enemy is to tell them the truth (Galatians 4:16). We are sure we will make some people angry with what we write, but it must be written because it is the truth, and the truth is what sets men free (John 8:31-32).
Did you know that it is wrong to pray for the dead? When people have died, their works are all they have and no prayer can help them. The word of God teaches that hope, repentance and prayers are only for the living because after death, one is in God’s hands and will be on the Judgment Day as they were when they died (Daniel 12:2; Ecclesiastes 9:4-6, 10, 11:3; John 5:28-29, 8:21-24; Revelation 14:13; Luke 16:19-31; Matthew 25:31-46).
With all the scriptures of God’s word on prayer, not one of them mentions or teaches about giving prayers for the dead. That being the case, we must reject such as false teaching. What people should be doing is praying for the living because they are the ones who need it.
Hope to hear from you or see you at the services.
