This week’s advice is going to be short and to the point.
This week’s advice is simply this: “take care of your own and mind your own affairs” (1 Thessalonians 4:11-12). There are way too many people nosing into the affairs of others, knowing all the details about the affairs of others and not a ounce of their own responsibilities. A lot of people go to church every Sunday and listen to sermons made of junk. The preacher talks about Democrats and Republicans, how to fix the school system, the holidays, talent shows, money, etc.
Such might be alright in other circles, but it is not alright when it comes from the pulpit. The sermon is to be a message from God’s word (2 Timothy 4:2, 3:14-17). The Bible is filled with information designed to save man’s soul and to educate on the history of God’s dealings with man (1 Tim. 4:16). This is what people ought to be listening to (Jeremiah 23:22; Ezekiel 44:23). But that doesn’t happen because many preachers don’t know the Bible, and their congregations also don’t know the Bible, and they are just playing church. This is a tragic example of the blind leading the blind (Matthew 15:13-14; Isaiah 9:16). When a person listens to a sermon, they should hear the preacher encouraging everyone to pick up their Bibles and follow him—not sit in their seats and just accept what he claims, but the listeners should see and read what he is saying from the Bible itself (Acts 17:11). Many church people have never heard of the phrase, “book, chapter and verse.” Or the phrase, “speak where the Bible speaks and remain silent where the Bible is silent. To do things in bible ways and call things by bible names” (1 Peter 4:11; 2 John 9-11; Galatians 1:8-9). Ask yourself this question: Have I been listening to a sermon or a guy just talking? Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. By now we all have heard of the couple who shot and killed 14 people in San Bernadino and wounded others as well. These two decided to kill anyone who doesn’t share their position on Islam because, according to them, such is the fate of unbelievers. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the message saints carry into the world with the hope of saving souls (Romans 1:15-16; 1 Corinthians 1:20-31, 9:16; 2 Cor. 2:12; 2 Timothy 1:8-11).
There are many who don’t accept the gospel of Jesus Christ (1 Peter 4:17; Galatians 1:6-7). When that happens, our next move isn’t murdering them, but leaving them alone and taking the gospel to someone else who will appreciate it (Acts 19:8-10, 18:5-11; Matthew 15:13-14, 10:11-15). Christians don’t have the right to declare war on the whole world if the message of Jesus Christ is rejected by man. Instead, allow the day of Judgment to deal with those who reject the Lord (2 Thessalonians 1:5-10; John 12:48; Matt. 13:24-30; Jude 14-16; 2 Cor. 5:10). So shooting up a place or blowing up a place, is murder and it is to be condemned (Matt. 5:21). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. By now we all have heard of the guy who shot up the planned family center in Colorado. This man decided to kill those who didn’t share his position on abortion and for that reason he is wrong (Matthew 5:21).
No matter what one believes, that doesn’t create the right to kill those who don’t agree. This church doesn’t endorse abortion because we see that the word of God teaches that life begins at conception (Jeremiah 1:4-5). So we would never murder an infant in the womb or a person who is pro choice (Roman 13:9). But we will teach what the word of God reveals and allow the listener to either accept or reject it. Because at the end of time all will answer for their attitude toward God (John 12:47-48). The right to disagree is universal—everyone can do so, based upon evidence which proves that one is right. With evidence one can disagree with gay advocates. With evidence one can disagree with those of the Muslim faith. With evidence, one can disagree with atheists. etc. What one cannot do is kill the people who don’t share their belief.
I don’t agree with any of the groups I have just mentioned because I have evidence from the word of God (the Bible) which teaches the opposite of what these groups believe. But beheading people because they cannot quote a Quran verse or going on a killing spree against those whom aren’t considered right; isn’t the work of God, it is the work of Satan! God has made it clear in His word, that the earth would have people who don’t see eye to eye. The Bible doesn’t endorse division in the world, but it does affirm that it exists. People can respectfully talk about their differences, but cannot kill each other over them. The killings we have seen in the past weeks is murder and the ones who commit such acts have a burning hell awaiting them. Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s perfect will is (Romans 12:2).
When churches or individual Christians turn from the Biblical authority that has been taught, and adapt to the philosophies that is being promoted by the world, that church or person has departed from the word of God (Colossians 2:8; 1 Timothy 4:1). The church is not to be instructed by the movers and shakers of this world, instead the church is supposed to be changing the world and teaching Bible values to them. Today there are many churches that have sold out to the world by changing their doctrines and allowing man-made, worldly values (PC) to enter the church (Revalation 2:14-22). The church is suppose to stand on the eternal word of God and His word never needs an update because it will outlast our world and judge all men at the end of time (John 12:48; Rev. 20:12; 1 Peter 1:23-25; 1 John 2:15-17; Matthew 24:35). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. The government, like the home, is ordain by God (Genesis 3:16; Romans 13:1-2). The government is supposed to be just and righteous, but sometimes the government becomes corrupt (Ecclesiastes 3:16-17). Just because that might be the case, it is no excuse for rulers, and they will have to repent in order for God to bless that nation (Proverbs 14:34, 16:7, 10:27-28, 11:11; Psalm 33:12).
At the moment there are things in this present administration that believers of the word of God cannot accept (Acts 5:29). However, we won’t start acting like idiots and become violent and unruly. Instead the faithful will stand for God’s word and teach it in a peaceful way wherever they can (Acts 8:4-5). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. Man doesn’t have the time he may think. As fast as time goes, 20 years seems like yesterday. Man gets older, fatter, wrinkled, gray, etc. People are aging, they cannot walk as fast or eat as much or sleep like they use to. Everything hurts and aging is the result. The coffin and the graveyard is right around the corner and man best wake up and realize the fact.
Which brings us to eternity. Where will you spend it? Heaven? Hell? How do you know? Man can know his negatives and positives; but that can only be known by the Bible which is the word of God. We invite you to know where you are headed and that will be shown to you by God’s word. Feel free to contact us so we can break the bread of life together. Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. A young man in high school needs to do his studies and begin planning for his future, be that college, military, or whatever is productive. What he should not do is get a girl pregnant. Both of them are still in school, not married, not mature enough to be parents, no job to support a home and baby. etc. Young unmarried girls with babies will not go away unless young men and young women realize that it is a sin for unmarried persons to be having sex (Hebrews 13:4; 1 Corinthians 7:1-2, 1 Cor. 6:18).
Once a young man understands and respects that, he will not be trying to have sex, which can result in pregnancy. When a young woman realizes and respects that she needs to pick a young man with morals, she will eliminate getting pregnant. When young men and women realize they need to be students in high school and not parents (with no money or home in order to care for a child) things can go in the right direction. And besides, a young man and woman should ask themselves this question. Is this the man or woman I plan on spending life with? If not; why are we having a baby? Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. |
