If you are a liar and a cheat, stop living like that. It's the right thing to do. If you like to gossip, stop gossiping. It's the right thing to do. If you have found some money, and you know who it belongs to, give it back. It's the right thing to do. If you are able to check in on an elderly neighbor during this cold season, go ahead. It's the right thing to do. It's the holiday season, so don't be involved in scams. It's the right thing to do. If there is something you can do in order to ease someone's burden, don't hesitate to help. It's the right thing to do. If you have been living off someone else, stop being a bum and get a job. It's the right thing to do. If you are a teenager and you are turning your parents' hair gray, stop being rebellious and start respecting your parents. It's the right thing to do. If your interest in females is only sexual, stop being that way. It's the right thing to do. If you use profane speech, stop doing that. It's the right thing to do. If you don't give thanks to God for your food, start doing so. It's the right thing to do. Below are some scriptures from God's word. We ask that you study these verses and comply. It's the right thing to do. James 1:19-27, Hebrews 13:1-5, Galatians 5:16-26, Ephesians 6:1-9, Mark 16:16.
Hope to hear from you or to see you at the services. In the book of Luke 14:16-24, we read of a great supper being prepared and the host sending invitations to many, requesting their presence at the magnificent feast. Rather than accept, these people began to make excuses as to why they couldn't come. One spoke of his real estate that he had to check on, another about testing his livestock, etc. As a result of their apathy, these people missed out on a special treat—feasting on fine food with this host would have been the best meal they could have ever gotten.
In Matthew 11:28–30, we read of Jesus offering to give rest to all who are weak, tired and heavily burdened, for he wishes to help men with the trials and tribulations of life. The invitation is open to all who are willing to open their hearts and learn of him (Revelation 3:20). "So what's your excuse?" Why won't you obey the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ? Do you have real estate to check on? Do you have to go and check on your horses? Are you a newly wed and have no time for Jesus right now? Again, I ask: "What's your excuse?" Hope to hear from you or to see you at the services. Thank God the sniper was caught! Everyone should be giving God all the praise for the assistance that He gave to law enforcement in order for them to catch those guys. Police cannot catch criminals alone, because police like everyone else, are human and in need of divine assistance and that is why God helps them to nab the bad guys.
Have you ever heard of a crook doing something stupid and as a result, he gets caught? That is what men pray for God to do; cause the criminal to make mistakes that will result in capture (Psalm 7:9-17, Psalm 10, Psalm 58, Psalm 59). There was a lot of sorrow for the families who had loved ones gunned down by these two evildoers, but at the same time there were many Christians praying for God to expose these sniping devils, and He did just that. So, our prayers have been answered, and now the court must do the right thing and give the right punishment that suits the crimes that have been committed. Thank God for His concern and help. Hope to hear from you or to see you at the services. There are a lot of people quoting the Bible and claiming to be religious, and it is certainly right for all who profess Christianity to teach others. But one must keep in mind that scriptures can be misquoted and misued (2 Peter 3:15-16). Always listen carefully to what is told to you; afterward look just as carefully at the scripture that is given as proof of the contention. What the person has said must be the same as is taught by that scripture.
On another note, some people blame God for the hardships they endure. For example, a person will say in regard to his bad female relationships, "I cannot understand why God wants me to suffer so much." Just why does God have to be blamed for this person's suffering? Could it be that this person makes bad choices concerning women, and it is that which is making his life hard? When a person fails to live as the word of God teaches, that person will fall into many pits and dungeons and will continue to do so as long as he walks according to his bad choices. In Proverbs 13:15, the Bible teaches that the way of the transgressor is hard. So, none should blame God for their troubles, instead people must take a look at themselves. Hope to hear from you or to see you at the services. In the Bible you can read of Jesus Christ speaking out against the false religion of the Scribes and Pharisees, and for doing so, they tried to kill him (John 7:1, 11-13, 19-26; John 8:37-40). When a religion places a death sentence on anyone who either quits the religion or speaks against it, such should serve to make people wary of that religion. Christianity is the faith founded by the son of God, Jesus Christ, Himself; and there is salvation only in Him (Acts 4:12, 11:26). But know this, Jesus will not kill you, or have you locked up in jail, if you refuse to become a Christian. Jesus doesn't force Himself upon any person, but rather He said, "let him who will, come," (Matthew 11:28-30, Revelation 22:17).
With Jesus, one will never see a so called "holy war" being fought against those who are considered infidels, nor an overthrow of the government, nor a terrorist plot to put fear into people for not choosing to be Christians (Matt. 26:52-54, John 18:36). Serving Jesus Christ is a choice, not an order. You have free will, and yes God would love to have you be a Christian, serving Him, but the choice is yours. Hope to hear from you or to see you at the services. Those who involve themselves in affairs with another's spouse, lacks understanding and is destroying their own soul (Proverbs 6:32). The marriage bond is a holy union joined by God, and those who tarnish that bond by becoming intimate with the spouse of another, are sinning not only against self, and the person's spouse, but they are also sinning against God (Genesis 39:7-10, Hebrews 13:4, 1 Corinthians 6:18, Matthew 19:6).
The best thing to do is never get involved in an affair; for no affair is worth spending eternity in a burning hell, and that is sure where one will go if repentance isn't done (1 Cor. 6:9-10). Besides, chances are the person won't leave their marriage, and even if they did leave their marriage, the law of God won't permit one to marry the spouse of another (Matt. 14:4, 1 Cor. 5:1, Romans 7:1-4, Matt. 19:9). So it's a losing proposition. If one is having an affair with the spouse of another, you need to stop it, and stop it now. You are involved in a terrible thing, and you need to do the right thing. Someone else's spouse is not your spouse, and can never be your spouse, so leave them alone and find someone who is eligible to be with you. And we do mean someone God would be happy to see you with (Prov 18:22). Hope to hear from you or to see you at the services. "Well done thou good and faithful servant; thou has been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy Lord," Matthew 25:21-23 (KJV).
These words which will be spoken to the saved on the Judgment Day are the most wonderful words any man can expect to hear. As we take a closer look at these words which will come forth from the mouth of Christ, we see that the words speak of a person who was true at all times to his God. He was faithful when things were good, and he was faithful even when things went bad. His faithfulness impressed the Creator, and God will remember him for it. Also we see that the person proved himself worthy of entrance into heaven by mastering small things; a person can not make it to heaven by doing nothing, one must obey God, which proves one ready for the next big thing, heaven! Let this warning stand true, if a man can not serve God in this life, he sure won't see God's face in peace in the next life. Hope to hear from you or to see you at the services. "Who has directed the Spirit of the Lord, or as His counselor has informed Him? With whom did he consult and who gave Him understanding? And who taught Him in the path of justice and taught Him knowledge, and informed Him of the way of understanding?" Isaiah 40:13-14.
Then the Lord God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him," Genesis 2:18. The family has been defined and given to man by Almighty God. God in his infallible wisdom has created two sexes, one male, the other female, in order to serve as companion for life (Matthew 19:4; Proverbs 18:22; 1 Corinithians 11:3, 8-9; Romans 7:1-3). This selection works perfectly, and such is so becuase God ordained it (Prov. 18:22). And what God has joined together, let no person pull apart or try to improve upon by substituting something else (Matt. 19:6, Prov. 30:5, 1 Timothy 6:3-4). Hope to hear from you or to see you at the services. The Bible teaches that the money of the church is reserved for the needs of poor saints (Acts 4:34-37, Acts 2:45, 1 Timothy 5:16, 1 Corinthians 16:1-2). No one should look upon the church as a place where they can go and get money. The church isn't a bank or a welfare agency. Many people think that they can call the church and make any kind of request, and get that request fulfilled.
It is very appalling that people have the gall to look in the phone book and call up a church they know nothing about and ask for money. Just where is it written that the church is the provider of the world's financial woes? If a person needs money they should ask relatives and friends who know them or start being wiser with their spending. While it is true that Christians are giving people, one shouldn't take them for fools; for no Christian is supposed to give his money out to any person or con man asking for it (Matthew 10:16, 2 Thessalonians 3:10, Proverbs 19:15). Hope to hear from you or to see you at the services. What a summer we had this year! So many people got bitten by sharks last year that we called the summer of 2001, "the summer of the shark." Well, this year we saw a lot of evil toward children. I suppose we could have labeled the summer of 2002, "the summer of child abuse." Just consider these repeated evils that continue to go on and on.
A person claims to forget to take the baby out of the hot car (I find that hard to believe). Are people that occupied in thought that they cannot remember that a child is in the car? A baby won't stop crying so the sitter shakes him to death or beats the child up and then tells the authorities the child fell down, and the police are suppose to believe that? A sex pervert looks upon a child with the interest of sexually molesting and killing the youngster (How stupid and depraved can a person be?). Now you may gasp and cringe upon hearing all this and such response is justified because these deeds are appalling. However, if you use profanity, smoke, drink, gamble, or do other kinds of evil in the presence of your child or other children, you are doing the wrong thing as well. All these things are evil and anyone doing such is sinning (1 John 3:1, 1 John 5:17). I'm calling upon all people who abuse a child to repent. If you have done evil worthy of jail, turn yourself in and pay the price, hopefully you will be a better person when you come out. If you haven'tdone evil worthy of jail time, just quit the evil and start doing the right thing (Acts 3:19). Hope to hear from you or to see you at the services. |
