A big problem in life is that of parents having babies and abandoning them. There have been babies left on door steps, in boxes, parks, alleys, in favorable, and unfavorable weather conditions. Now hear this loud and clear—it is a sin to abandon an innocent baby! It is a sin for you to produce a child, then claim that you aren’t ready for parenthood because your lifestyle will be cramped (Proverbs 6:16-17). Responsibility is the same regardless, and it doesn’t matter if one is ready or not; and when it concerns consequences a person must answer for them.
When an infant is deserted, there will be a certain amount of time before that child is discovered and anything could happen. Therefore the abandoning parent knowingly places that child in danger! As a deserted child grows up he realizes the void in his life, the emptiness of not belonging, having no attachment to his kin, and hurting over the fact that he is out in the world alone with no family for holidays, weddings, or even funerals. And if you think long and hard about it, you will see this evil is an huge burden to place upon the head of a child (Genesis 42:22; 1 Timothy 5:8). As it has been said, some claim that they deserted their children because they weren’t ready to be a parent. They say things like, “I had no job,” “I was on crack,” “it was a one night stand and the girl wore no protection,” and “my career was not doing well,” etc. These are not excuses that the Lord will accept. Responsibility will be a witness against many on the Judgment Day because if a person isn’t ready for children, that person should have understood that before having sex (Galatians 6:7; Luke 14.28-31). If one isn’t ready for children that person needs to guard against having children, and I not talking about using a condom. I talking about women not opening their legs, and men keeping their organ in their pants! I’m talking about the same thing that God has said for centuries and that is don’t have sex until marraige! (Hebrews 13:4; 1 Corinthians 7:1-4; Colossians 3:5; 1 Thessalonians 4:3). If men would obey what the Lord has said, then each child will be born into a home with a father and a mother and a family bond that surrounds them for life. It is pitiful that man refuses the instrutions of God and creates chaos in the world that not only effects him, but innocent little ones as well. Parents must raise their children and not flee after putting them in the back of a house (Proverbs 22:6, 29:15:17; 23:13-14; Ephesians 6:1-4).
