The act of “bullying”. As you are aware, people are getting beat up and teased all over our land. In schools, cities, and even the military. What does the Bible have to say about that? The Bible teaches for men to treat others as you wish to be treated and to be kind and helpful toward others (Luke 6:31; 1 Thessalonians 5:15). This thing about beating someone up because they are different has got to go! Physical assault is wrong, so keep your hands off others. Even if you disagree with someone you don’t beat that person up, call him names, kill him, or do any other evil to him. You simply do your best to help him see the light and if that doesn’t work, you go your way and let him go his (Acts 18:6).
For example, I don’t agree with the gay advocates who promote their life as right. I have a reason for not believing what they say and that reason is based upon what the word of God teaches about marriage and the opposite sex (Genesis 2:18; 1 Corinthians 11:8-9; 1 Cor. 7:1-4). If I sit down to discuss this matter with a gay person, the words, “hate speech” or “intolerant” shouldn’t come up because that is name calling, and either one of us could use those words to label the other. Name calling only incites anger and if so, our meeting becomes a mud slinger and nothing positive will get done. People who disagree need to sit down and reasonably discuss what divides them and use some standard by which to come to a conclusion. I remind men that the Bible is the word of God, and that being the case, there is no greater authority to decide the matter of being gay or straight. Teasing is provoking or torturing others. Why do you want to do that? When you torture others, you are making them miserable. Are you sadistic? Do you get pleasure from causing misery to others? Teasing is just so ridiculous. A coward is one who throws a rock and hides his hand. If a person believes in something they ought to be courageous enough to stand up for it 1 Cor. 16:13). There is a pitiful act which many churches are seeing—it is some coward calling the church answering service and leaving a profane message complaining about something that the church teaches. But hear this, these callers never leave any contact information. What’s up with that? I remember a man leaving a message saying that he didn’t like the church leaving a tract on his front door and that he doesn’t want any tracts in the future. Yet this guy like all the others, wouldn’t leave a house address. If the church has gone to 50 houses leaving tracts, how would they know to avoid his house, if he didn’t leave the information? It makes no sense and it also proves that this person throws rocks and hides his hand. You cannot get something from nothing, and a human being is something (Psalm 104:1-35). Yes, human beings have been wonderfully made (Psa. 139:14). By studying the human anatomy and observing the body and how it functions, I say there must be a God! (Psa. 103:7, 145:1-13, 148:1-13). I didn’t come from a monkey and neither did you. We all came from the finger of God for we are His offspring (Acts 17:24-29). College Professors may teach evolution in their classrooms, but evolution didn’t get them here, it was the Father in heaven who is responsible. And if evolution were true, why isn’t it active today? That professor in the class room, did he come from evolution or was he born by the process that God ordained with a mother and father? (Gen. 3:16; 2 Timothy 2:13-15; 1 Tim. 5:14; Colossians 3:18-20). So look around you at the people you see, are they from evolution or do they have parents? ~James Baker |
