When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night, Thy hand was heavy upon me, my vitality was drained away as with the fever heat of summer. I acknowledge my sin to Thee and my iniquity I did not hide, I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the Lord." And Thou didst forgive the guilt of my sin (Psalms 32:3–5, NASV).
King David, the Psalmist, wrote those valuable words about the stress of carrying a burden of sin. Your health will just go straight down the drain and no person needs that. King Solomon wrote "Be not over much wicked, should you die before your time?" (Ecclesiastes 7:17). And trust the Bible writers, you will die before your time if the burden of sin is weighing you down. Do what is best, take the pressure off, obey God (Hebrews 5:9).
