Be Responsible

This is only for people who believe the Bible to be God's word.

"And to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life and attend to your own business and work with your hands, just as we commanded you. So that you may behave properly toward outsiders and not to be in any need." (1 Thessalonians 4:11–12 NAS).

The beauty of this verse is seen in the command for a person to take charge of their own responsibility and provide for themselves. No one should be a beggar, a leech, or a "woe is me" person, feeling sorry for themselves. Recognize that God has told us to provide for every need we may have. No one should depend upon others to put food on the table or a roof over their heads. Everyone must learn the value of self worth and self obligation; for if the $60,000 a year job isn't available yet, take the $30,000 a year job until that higher paying one comes along. By doing so, a person will have honest money in his pockets and not be sitting at home depending on someone else to provide. And one more thing—keep away from illegal and dishonest money! (1 Timothy 6:6–10).
