Don't Worship A Man

4/10/2005

This is only for people who believe the Bible to be God's word.

In Acts 10:25–26, we read, "And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshiped him. But Peter took him up, saying stand up, I myself also am a man." Worshiping well known religious leaders is nothing new. Centuries ago, the man Cornelius thought he was to pay such honor to Peter. But no, that wouldn't be right; for Peter said that he was a man and he shouldn't be worshipped.

If a person is a man, don't fall down at his feet and bow, don't kiss his ring, nor call him by God's name for he is a man (Matthew 23:7–10; Psalm 111:9; Ephesians 4:6). No Rabbi, Father, Master, Reverend etc. The men that people fall down before, praise and idolize, will die and stand before God just like everyone else, for there is nothing special about them, they are men (Romans 14:12; 1 Corinthians 4:6). During the times of the Old Testament, the people would create an object out of stone and then worship it. That is very dumb, huh? (1 Corinthians 12:2). Not much has changed today, for people create a man and worship him as well. The right thing is to only worship the Lord God Almighty (Matthew 4:10; Revelation 22:8–9; John 4:23–24).

Hope to hear from you or see you at the services.
