In Matthew 17:8, we read “when the disciples opened their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.” So guess what? Man needs to see the same today. We don’t need anything else but the One who died for our sins, and that is the Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ (Matthew 1:21; Acts 4:12). There is so much out there trying to get our attention and many are asking that we pay money. For example, we have a lot of authors writing so called self-development books and promoting those books on TV and radio, book signings, etc. But you don’t need their books, instead you need information from the One who will save you at the end of your life (John 5:24, 6:63,68, 8:51, 12:47). The words of a famous person on TV are simply his words, and those words have no saving power because chances are the words weren’t created by him. Also if you read his book, you will see that he took much from the words of the Bible.
So all those books telling us how to be happy or how to have a great marriage, etc, are nothing new. Such information has already been spoken centuries ago by the Lord (Psalm 146:3-5). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. No man or woman is worth going to jail over. I’m talking about the killing of another person. Just look at that trial going on in Phoenix where the woman supposedly slaughtered her boyfriend because he was going to leave her for someone else. And don’t forget about that female rocket scientist from Houston who drove wildly to Orlando to confront another female who was supposedly fooling with her man. Then there are cases in our area where someone is in jail for killing or assaulting their spouse, boyfriend, girlfriend, etc.
Lives have been upset, and people are damaged for life over such things. It’s not worth it! If someone does you wrong, don’t kill them or do something that will get you in trouble. Just walk away or pursue the correct legal means to end the issue. And some might say, “that is easier said than done” so I’m not rebutting. But at the end of the day, that will be the only sensible thing to do. I’m sure as it concerns that Las Vegas case, football great, O.J. Simpson, now wishes he would have walked away (1 Peter 1:19-23). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. One has no way of knowing what goes on inside neighbors houses. Neighbors can appear to be nice, but they might be wolves behind the smile. Some neighbors from the beginning just cannot get along and some neighbors have no plans of getting to know others. They can go on not speaking for the next 60 years and think nothing of it. I wonder what neighbors would do if a stroke or heart attack occurred and the only person around is the neighbor that he doesn’t speak to? Would that neighbor then reach out to the neighbor he has shunned?
And what about Cleveland? A man with women locked away in his house and neighbors didn’t even know! And lest we forget, Philadelphia had its own share of nightmares concerning people locked up in houses and neighbors not knowing. But get this! Somewhere right now, a neighbor yet to be exposed, is doing some kind of evil right under the noses of others (Psalm 10:9-10; Proverbs 15:3; Matthew 23:27-28). Be aware of things and pray for the exposure of evil and rescue of the victims. Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. Saving for a rainy day is supported by the principles of God’s word. One example of this is the young man who got his inheritance and wasted it on partying (Luke 15:11-13). Had he not done so, money would have been left for him to live on (Luke 15:14-17; Ephesians 4:28). The Bible teaches wise men will have money but foolish men will waste it (Proverbs 21:20). Also we learn of a servant who failed to place his Master’s money in the bank, were it could have gained interest (Matthew 25:27).
Jesus teaches to “count the cost” before doing anything and that certainly can be applied to the use of money. Money isn’t something that we should be in love with because it can’t be taken with us at death (Matt 6:19-21; 1 Timothy 6:7-10; Job 1:21; Psalm 49:15-20). But that doesn’t mean to waste money and not be able to pay rent (Ecclesiastes 11:1-2). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. Church is where we learn to please God and not ourselves. Church is where we learn about the beliefs of God and not our beliefs. Church is where we go to serve God by doing what He wants and not what we want.
Church is where we should hear the preacher give book, chapter and verse for what he teaches. At church, no preacher or church leader should be teaching the opinions of himself or anyone else. Church is the place were we come to worship the Creator and not the minister, choir, church building, etc. Some churches put up signs saying, “A church for your beliefs.” or, “We believe in tolerance”. I question what those beliefs are, and I question what a church may tolerate. And I wonder if God is pleased with what those churches are doing (Revelation 2:18-20). Everything a church does must be according to the scriptures or that church is wrong (2 John 8-9; Matthew 15:13-14; John 4:24; 1 Timothy 4:16; 1 Tim. 6:3; 2 Tim. 1:13; Galatians 1:8-9; John 8:31-32; 1 Tim. 4:13). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. When a bottle of liquid has a skull and cross bones on it, one should be smart enough not to drink it. If one notices a sign “slippery when wet,” one should be smart enough not to speed that way. If the shark tank has “no hands allowed,” one should be smart enough not to put a hand in there. The point of all this is, we wish that people would learn without having to suffer the consequences of being hard headed. A man may know the risk of picking up hookers, but not learn his lesson until he is arrested or is a victim of a transmitted sexual disease (Proverbs 5:11-13). If the word is out, “Don’t send text messages while driving,” one should learn from those words and not from having an accident.
In Luke 15:11-32, we read of a young man who demanded his inheritance and wasted it after moving far away. This guy didn’t listen to anything until he was broke, alone, and sitting among the pigs, desiring the slop they ate. Likewise the word of the Lord warns men; but are we listening? (Prov. 1:20-33, 22:3). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. Would you like to get away from useless people? If so, consider these Bible verses.
Get control of your life by dumping dead beats, and your next step should be going toward the Lord. If you want to get your life right, and if you are willing to let the word of God guide you; we want to hear from you. Make the effort to savage your life and soul (Acts 2:40). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. People have been saying that the Bible needs a upgrade—that its teaching are out of date with the ever changing times in which we live. Well, I agree that we are living in changing times, and those changes are not for better, but for worse! (2 Timothy 3:13). No, the word of Almighty God doesn’t need upgrading! People need to quit being sinfully progressive and return and listen to what the word of the Lord has to say! (Proverbs 1:33). The word of Almighty God will last from the beginning until the end of time (Revelation 1:8; 1 Peter 1:23; Hebrews 13:8; Matthew 24:35; Isaiah 55:8-11; Heb. 4:12).
The Creator made man, and He knows what is best for man and when He speaks, He speaks for eternity because that’s what His word means. The same word, which many say is obsolete, will judge them in the end (John 12:47-48; Prov. 30:4-5). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. Some like to ridicule, so let’s speak about those who poke fun at people who believe in following the Bible as their life guide (Psalms 119:104-106). Those who hate the scriptures, call these people “BIBLE THUMPERS.” However, they fail to understand that there are only two choices: one can be a “BIBLE THUMPER” or a “SELF THUMPER.” It is best to be a “BIBLE THUMPER” because those who stand on the word of God will last forever (Matthew 24:35; 1 Peter 1:22-25). Those who toot their own horn are mistaken and on their way to Hell (Proverbs 14:12; Jeremiah 17:9, 10:23; Judges 21:25; 2 Timothy 4:2-4).
Consider the words of Jeremiah, “he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully” (Jer. 23:28). Better deny self and start thumping than the Bible. Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. Supreme Court Justices cannot decide what God has already decided. In the beginning, God created man from the dust of the earth and made woman from the rib of the man for companionship (Genesis 2:7:21-25; 1 Corinthians 11:8-9). By doing this, God introduced man to the institution of marriage. You see, there is no such thing as “traditional marriage.” There is only marriage, in which God provided the opposite sex, so that man could produce after his own kind and not be alone. So, this is what God has provided for the benefit of man and God said it is good (Gen. 2:18; 1:27-31; Matthew 19:4-6; Mark 10:9).
The Supreme Court Justices are men, and they, along with people, need to be conforming their lives into harmony with what Almighty God has given us. The Supreme Court Justices cannot decide what marriage is because it isn’t their union to do anything with. Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. |
