Satan has the strongest grip that ever existed. He keeps men enslaved in sin and clouds the mind so that people don’t realize the eternal danger they are in (2 Corinthians 4:3-4). And finally, they die and once that has ocurred, man is set for hell and Satan gains another poor soul (John 8:21; Matthew 25.46).
But it doesn’t have to be that way. The first thing one must do is admit being in the grip of Satan. The second, turn to Christ because He is the only one that can free man from the grip of the Devil. Third, accept whatever Jesus teaches in order to stay clear of Satan so that one doesn’t become entangled again (Matt. 10:28-30; John 10:10; Titus 3:3-8; John 16.33; 1 John 2:13-14; Revelation 2:26; James 5:19-20; 2 Timothy 2:24-26). God’s word is a map, one cannot come to the purpose of life without it. But obeying the word takes one out of the world and into Christ (Colossians 1:13; John 10:5). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. Getting drunk is condemned by the word of God. It is condemned because it causes a person to losecontrol of senses, which results in stupid and dangerous behavior to self and others (Ephesians 5:18; Galatians 5:19-21; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; 1 Peter 4:1-5; Proverbs 20:1; Luke 21.34; Prov. 23:29-35; Genesis 9:20-23; 2 Samuel 11:12-13; 1 Sam. 25:36-38; Psalm 107:27; Romans 13:13).
Seeing this before, Almighty God decided to mark such conduct as unlawful (1 Timothy 1:9-10; 1 John 3:4). By encouraging men not to go down the path of the drunk, the Lord saves man from a lot of trouble (Prov. 27:12). So it is best to listen to Him, because the pleasure of the drink isn’t worth the trouble it will cause. Stay sober (1 Peter 4:7). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. When Moses’ relationship with God was at it’s highest, he felt comfortable enough to ask God to show His face (Exodus 33:12-23). He was so in awe that he didn’t realize what he asked was not possible for man. For God told Moses, “no man can view my face and live” (Ex. 33:20). In 1 Timothy 6:16, the Apostle Paul writes, “God dwells in greatness so awesome, that no man can come (physically) near.” Philip, one of the Apostles, thought he could view the face of the Father, but he was rebuked by Christ (John 14:6-11).
Jesus then taught Philip, that one could see the Father by observing and learning from the wonderful works that were being done (John 14:8-9). The lesson for us is don’t look for the physical view of God, instead look for God in the works of righteousness. When you see a person living a holy life, you are seeing God though the works of that person (1 Peter 1:14-16). As for seeing Him as He really is, one must make it to heaven in order to experience that (1 John 3:2-3). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. Far too many of our young men are wasting their lives away. They will get a girl pregnant and take no responsibility (of course the girl shares the blame as well). There are young men who have no interest in getting a job because they find it too convenient to stay home and live off the parents. And here is where parents share the blame. Some young men have no regard for the value of human life. They will grab a gun and battle over a few dollars or their so called interpretation of “respect.” All day long they hang with their buddies in the streets, adding no value to the community; but certainly doing a great job making it look bad with their use of profanity, drinking, and loud music.
Such conduct is a total waste of a human life and an embarrassment for the parents that raised them (Proverbs 10:1). Young man, you don’t have to waste your life away! You also don’t need low-life people as friends. What you need is God. With Him you can learn the correct way to live and avoid the pit falls of life that have trapped so many (Ecclessiastes 12:1; Prov. 3:1-26, 4:20-27, 6:20-35, 7:1-27, 10:1). Young man, with the help of God, you can turn your back on wrong doing (Prov. 4:10-19; Titus 2:6-8; 2 Timothy 2:22; Prov. 1:10-19; Joshua 24:15; Prov. 13:1; Psalm 34:12-17; Phillipians 4:13). Feel free to make copies of this to pass on to some young man walking in darkness. Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. |
