“The wicked borrows and pays not again, but the righteous shows mercy and gives.” (Psalms 37:21).
How many times have you heard of people becoming enemies because someone borrowed money and didn’t repay? It is shameful that some people think that they can get free money from others. Now if a giver is feeling generous and tells the borrower that it doesn’t have to be paid back, it then is a gift. But if a person said, they would loan money, then the borrower must pay it back. And if a borrower cannot pay back the lender before the due date, he shouldn’t be borrowing. Also people shouldn’t borrow in the spur of the moment. There needs to be a repayment plan before getting the money. That way the borrower will not be causing problems for the lender because the lender has his own obligations, and he doesn’t need “a dead beat, so-called friend” adding trouble. So the moral is “Do unto others as you want them to do to you.” (Luke 6:31). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. If you are married, don’t commit adultery! (Romans 13:9). You have a wife, you have a husband; so improve your relationship with your spouse and leave others alone (Ephesians 5:24-33; Titus 2:1-5; 1 Peter 3:1-7; Colossians 3:18-19; 1 Cor. 7:1-4). Don’t place yourself in awkward and questionable situations with the opposite sex which may give rise to temptation (Proverbs 5:1-23, 6:24-35, 7:1-27; Genesis 39:7-13). Marriage is the God given union of a man and a woman and God has established the marriage bond to last till death (Gen. 2:18-25; Matthew 19:1-6; Romans 7:1-3).
Both parties are to forsake all others as far as dating is concern and be joined as one flesh (Eph. 5:31). So forget that good looking co-worker, pool guy, neighbor, stranger, etc. Don’t get into checking out other people, just check out your spouse and keep your eyes there only (Matt. 5:27-28; 2 Samuel 11:2-27). And to the unmarried, don’t desire a married person. If you know they are married the game is over; hands off! A married person should not even be appealing to a unmarried person simply because the person is married (Gen. 12.17-20). Yet we hear some talking about how “hot” some married person is and how they would love to have sex with that person. (Hebrews 13.4). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services A few days ago, I saw a young lady walking down the street wearing daisy duke shorts. About fifteen minutes later I saw this same woman blushing and giggling as she was being given a possible pick up line from two men in a car.
Now, it is no surprise that her appearance had everything to do with those two guys stopping and trying to get her into the car or her phone number. On hot summer days many women unknowingly or knowingly shed their clothes and advertise themselves to everyone on the street. Ladies, that is a bad idea! (And if a guy does it, this same message is to him also). We have no knowledge of minds of the people who share the streets with us, and you sure don’t need to be arousing lust in some highly sexual charged person. Think about that before going outside onto the public streets (Matt. 5:28, 14:6-7; Proverbs 6:24-28; 2 Samuel 11:2-4; 1 Corinthians 6:18; Hebrews 13:4; James 1:13-15; 1 John 2:16-17). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services On June the 25th, 2009, Michael Jackson, (aka, the King of Pop) died from the use of the hospital drug Propofol. People worshiped and adored the man, though some didn’t like him. And even to this day, there are many events still offered up to his memory. However, the point we wish to present is that God doesn’t care if a person is the king of pop, the President or a hermit who lives in a low rent hotel. He will line men up and judge them all according to their works (John 5:22). There will be no lines for the famous, the rich, the poor or the disabled. It will simply be men and women standing before Him waiting their turn to be judged by their works which might be secret, public, good, or bad (Ecclesiastes 12:14; Hebrews 4:13; 1 Corinthians 4:5; 2 Cor. 5:10; Romans 14:9-12; Matthew 25:31-46).
In life, men adore the famous and rich and are prohibited from being near them. But at the Judgment Day, movie stars and athletes will be standing beside Mrs. John Doe and Mr Johnny Sixpack. God doesn’t care about elite status and everyone will be in the same class on the judgment Day. No autograph seekers will be there, no paparazzi, and no fainting teenage girls at the sight of Justin Bieber, Elvis Presley, or Rudolph Valentino The only concern will be, escaping from the fires of hell and making it into heaven (Luke 13:23-28). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. |
