“Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able” Luke 13:24.
Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ Matthew 7:22-23. From our study of these scriptures we see that some church people will be going to hell. Nothing can be worse then spending life thinking that one is right, only to be told by Christ how wrong they really are. Following false doctrine will destroy a lot of church people, because false doctrine isn’t the word of the Lord, it is error, and the Bible warns against it. Therefore, dear friends, since you have been warned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position as many will find themselves. 2 Peter 2:1-3, 3:17. If you are considering doing something bad: like fornicating with somebody, Stealing, Committing fraud, Murder, Smoking weed, Beating someone up, Getting revenge on someone, Posting something stupid on line. etc. etc. etc. Don’t do it!
As the late Nancy Reagan, once said: “just say no.” And as simple as it seems, that is indeed the answer. Just don’t do dumb stuff. Evil stuff. Stuff that will haunt you for years to come. Slow down, catch your breath and use the mind that God gave you. Nothing is done without a price and everyone will reap what they sow. Such is not Karma as people say. It’s just God’s word proving to be true (Galatians 6:7-8; Ecclesiastes 12:14). Consider what it is you may have in mind to do and ask yourself the following questions. “Would I do this if others knew I was doing it?” Is what I’m planning, something I could recommend to others? Is what I plan, something that will uplift my value, and the value of others around me? Will my partaking of this act, send me to heaven or to hell? There are some preachers who don’t live as people who are teachers of God (Romans 2:17-29). These preacher are weak, giving in to sinful habits like women, smoking, drinking, lying, cursing, watching porn, stealing money, and other bad things (2 Peter 2:1-3). How is it that a preacher can fornicate with the women of his church and still have church members defend him? Why do church members blindly attend church and idolize a preacher that has sin flowing from his pores like flies going after spoiled food.
Another thing about some preachers is how they approach people. How can any preacher expect to convert a person if they insult the person? Yet, that is what some preachers think. Their approach comes off as arrogant, and they still think they can convert people with this approach. Some people might be living in such a way that they will go to hell. But, if a preacher wants to save that person, he shouldn’t approach them with a “you are going to hell attitude.” Preachers need to examine each person and approach them with respect and dignity. As the old saying goes, “one can catch more flies with honey than vinegar” (2 Timothy 2:23-26; Proverbs 14:7; Colossians 4:5-6). |
