So you have some money, you live well, you buy what you want and go where you want. You think you are better than most people because of your education and financial status. Well, think again! And to the struggling person who doesn't have money, living from paycheck to paycheck, you cannot live in a nice neighborhood or buy what you need; and forget about going on a vacation—no money! You are feeling bad about yourself because you believe everything is against you and life hasn't treated you fair. Well, think again! The rich man's greatest enemy is his wealth because if he isn't humble, the love of that wealth can keep him out of heaven (Luke 18:24; 1 Timothy 6:9–10). The poor man's greatest hurdle is having faith in God while enduring a life of poverty (Psalm 40:17, Proverbs 28:6; Luke 21:2–3; Revelation 3:17; James 2:5). God is the Creator, and He said there will be rich and poor people (Exodus 30:15, Deuteronomy 15:11; Mark 14:7; Prov. 22:2). But it doesn't matter to the Lord if one is rich or poor, for he shouldn't be measured by what is in his wallet (Luke 12:15). On the day of Judgment, rich men like Bill Gates, Donald Trump, and Warren Buffet will be standing side by side with poor people before the throne of Jesus Christ to answer as to how they lived while on earth, and one's net worth won't mean a pinch of salt on that day (Luke 12:20, 16:19–23; 1 Timothy 6:7; Psalm 48:15–20). So don't boast of your net worth and don't cry because of your zero worth, but seek what pleases God so you will have treasure in Heaven that shall not pass away (1 Tim. 6:17–19; Matthew 6:19–21, 19:21; Job 1:21; Prov. 30:7–9; John 6:45, 14:6; Acts 4:12). "Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and sea! For the Devil is come down unto you, having great wrath because he knoweth that he hath but a short time," (Revelation 12:12 KJV). Reader, Satan wants to deceive you so that you will burn in Hell with him for eternity (Revelation 20:10). But in order to fool you the Devil must trick you in some way, and he shouldn't be under estimated (2 Corinthians 2:11; 1 Peter 5:8). Looking at the world today, one must give the Devil his due because he has done a fine job deceiving many people into believing and promoting acts of sin which should be clearly wrong to all. Consider how many believe in abortion, secularism, homosexuality, porn, sex before marriage, shacking up, profanity, lying, cheating, drinking, gambling, not raising their children, not going to church, or even believing in church, etc. These are just a few of Satan's devices, but the multitudes who believe and promote them are innumerable (Matthew 7:13–14). This is true because many love serving the devil, and I don't mean standing in the dark woods around a burning mark of the occult chanting, "hail Satan!" I mean loving things that are contrary to the Lord's word and enjoying their lives that way; for that is serving Satan since one is doing what Satan wants (Roman 6:16). Man will reap what he sows, and if man lives in violation of the law of God, be assured that man will lose his soul (Galatians 6:7–8). And by the way, if you are an atheist, you make Satan's job of deceiving easier (Psalm 14:1). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. I wonder how many people go to church to worship the preacher? To these people the preacher may not utter one scripture during his sermon, but they still think he did a great job! To these people, they can be shown what the Bible said about a topic, and rather then accept the Bible, they will go and ask their preacher. These people feel their preacher can do no wrong and if their preacher said it, it must be right! Such is the doom of a flock who places confidence in man rather than the Word (Jeremiah 17:5–9; Isaiah 9:16). The Apostle Paul had this problem because people started to worship him, and he had to put a stop to it (Acts 14:11–15; 1 Corinthians 1:12–13; 1 Cor. 4:6). Apostle Peter went to the home of a man to teach him and that man fell down at Peter's feet, but Peter told him not to do that because he (Peter) was a man also! (Acts 10:25–26). Understand that the preacher is not Jesus or God the Father. The preacher is a sinner just like everyone else, and he will be judged by Jesus on Judgment Day and either be invited into heaven or cast into hell (Revelation 22:12). So, don't worship the preacher or call him "Reverend" which is God's name (Psalm 111:9). Don't call him "Father" "Rabbi" or whatever because Jesus said all men are simply brethern (Matthew 23:1–12). Look to the Bible for your authority, and if you can't find it in the Bible, leave it alone! And when the preacher doesn't preach the Bible, you better leave him alone, too (Jer. 23:13–40). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. This is only for people who believe the Bible to be God's word.
Just when you think it has been all said, someone comes along and shocks you again. Hollywood has a movie coming out next month that claims Jesus married and raised children, and currently there is an author on the talk show circuit pushing his book which claims that Jesus didn't die on the cross! Now one can choose to believe this junk or one can shun it because the Bible gives no evidence to any of the claims made by these persons. If you believe the Bible, you will, with faith, accept what it teaches as the word of Almighty God. As for Christ having a wife, no such thing is in the gospels, that's just like saying He sold horses on the side. Even the people saying these things admitted they couldn't 100 percent prove it; so why say it? As for Jesus dying, that is why He came to earth and if He didn't die, allmankind is in sin and hell bound! (John 3:16–17; 1 John 2:2; John 1:29; 1 Peter 1:18–25; 1 Corinthians 15:12–23). The author on a recent news show, spoke much about Pontus Pilate, yet the very Bible which he read in order to know about Pilate shows that he knew Jesus was dead (Matthew 28:57–66; Mark 15:42–47; Luke 24:1–8; John 19:31–42; Acts 2:22–35; 1 Cor. 15:3–8). The conclusion to all of this is, "these men do err, not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God," (Matt. 22:29). In life we will hear many foolish things, but if we stay with the word of God and speak only as it directs, and remain silent where it remains silent, we will stand on a foundation that lasts forever (Matt. 24:35; Matt. 7:24–25; 1 Peter 4:11; Jeremiah 23:26).
