"Let him that is without sin, cast the first stone” John 8:7. "Don’t judge or you will be judged, in the same way you judge others, Why look at the speck of dust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, then you can remove the dust from your brother's eye."Matthew 7:1-5.
If a person said “I’m sorry” you will have to take him or her at their word, unless they do something that proves deceit. And you better make 100 percent sure that your evidence is valid. Which means phrases like “I think” or “I feel” need to be thrown out the window because that isn’t proof. Or if you have the ability to read thoughts and motives, then you can reject their apology. But, who has the power to do that? If we critique apologies, we need to remember that God is going to do the same to us when we ask for forgiveness (Matt. 6:14-15). But if we are incapable of sinning, we won’t have to worry about the Lord returning our deeds upon us. But who do you know that is perfect? Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. The Bible teaches men to show respect and courtesy toward one another, but some people don’t (Luke 6:31; Romans 13:10; 12:10, 17-18; Philippians 2:3-5; 2 Corinthians 8:21; 1 Thessalonians 5:15; Galatians 6:2, 10).
I know that according to the law, streets are public and open for parking wherever the right permits. However, during this harsh snowy season, I ask, “Where is the courtesy?” “Where is respect?” A person digs his car out of the snow and places a chair in the spot so that he can go to the store, only to return to see that someone has removed it and parked in the spot which he labored to dig out. I ask, “Where is the respect?” Tolerance should reign supreme during these wintery weeks. Let the guy claim the spot he dug out! Why disrespect him by taking a parking place you didn’t dig out? Why not dig out your own spot? Think about what I say because there has been shootings and fights over parking places, and we must show better behavior. Let’s show love, respect, courtesy, and tolerance during this cold season. Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. This book contains the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners, and the happiness of the believer. Its doctrine is holy, its precepts are binding, its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable. Read it to be wise, believe to be safe, and practice it to be holy. It contains light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you.
It is the travelers’ map, the pilgrims’ staff, the pilot’s compass, the soldiers’ sword, and the Christian’s charter. Here paradise is restored, heaven open, and the ways of hell disclosed. Christ is its grand object, our good its design, and the redemption of man its end. It should fill the memory, rule the heart, and guide the feet. It is a mine of wealth, a paradise of glory, and a river of pleasure. It is given to you in life and will be open on the Day of Judgment because it will stand for eternity. It involves the highest responsibilities, will reward the greatest labor, and condemn all who trifle with its sacred contents (Deuteronomy 4:8; Proverbs 30:5-6; Isaiah 55:8-11). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. “The Bucket List” is a movie about two men who were soon to die and their attempts to do as many things possible before death claimed them. In the movie, they did things which were fine, but they also engaged in sinful behavior. The men only thought about enjoying earthly things, and while it is fine to enjoy our last days on earth, it is foolish to do nothing to save the soul (Mark 8:36-37; Luke 12:15). When one has been told that death is near, that person should begin to think about where they will spend eternity, rather then climbing the highest mountain or sailing around the world (Matthew 6:19-21). The only chance you have to save yourself is while you are still alive because after death there is no repentance (John 8:21; Luke 16:22-26).
After death, man will have to stand before Almighty God and answer for every deed, and it will be pitiful for anyone with a “bucket list” of trips, clothes, cars, etc, and nothing else (Hebrew 5:9; Matt. 7:21; Acts 16:30-33; Matt. 25:31-46; Ecclesiastes 12:13; 2 Corinthians 5:10). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. |
