When someone is drunk, it is easy for anyone to take advantage of him. Drunkenness has caused rapes, robbery, kidnapping, agreeing to be a part of something which one later regrets. etc. And the police can tell you that drunkenness has caused car crashes which left people crippled, killed, arrested, and buildings crashed into, etc.
The price for being drunk is just too high to pay. It is better not to be drunk because being high takes away self control and puts one at the mercy of whomever may be near (Habakkuk 2:15; Genesis 9:20-24). So think about this if you are considering getting drunk. The price is just too much to pay for the so called good feeling. And people fail to remember that other things can give a good feeling won’t place you in danger (Ephesians 5:18; Proverbs 23:20-21, 29-35; Isaiah 5:11). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. The earthquake in Haiti shouldn’t cause men to doubt the existence of God nor to question His goodness. God’s existence and His goodness is being seen from the actions of millions of souls who are going down to help and also giving of their money (1 John 3:16-18). This wonderful action exists because God taught man to help and care for fellow human beings (1 John 4:7; Galatians 6:2:10; Hebrews 13:16). Natural disasters have plagued man since the beginning and will continue to do so until the end of time. That is why men shouldn’t make the earth their home but should focus on heaven (Matthew 6:19-20).
So instead of saying things like, “If there is a God, why would He allow this?” , man needs to take the wonderful virtues that God has given and put those things into action by serving the needy and comforting those who need it. And remember, if bad things didn’t happen, none of us would have the chance to be a good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. The talk over gay marriage continues to be a worrisome subject to people and churches. However, it’s an easy answer for anyone who respects what God has said on the matter. But that’s the problem! People don’t want to hear what the Creator has said about homosexuality (Romans 1:17-32). The argument of trying to match the issue with racial rights of a black person misses the mark completely (Matthew 23:23-24).
We are talking about gender and race—two different things. One can choose not to be gay, however one cannot choose his race because it is given by God (Acts 17:26). When God created male and female, he made them a match for each other, and race means nothing in that relationship (1 Samuel 16:7). One can attach a black and whiteextension cord together, and because of the male and female attributes, it will work. The male and female were made for each other, and there wouldn’t be a need for a female if a male would do (Genesis 1:27-28). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. Many people talk about how they don’t like organized religion, but they fail to see that God has organization in all of His creation (so churches aren’t excluded) [Genesis 1:31; Ecclesiastes 1:1-13). God organized the church by making each congregation autonomous (self-controlling, having no headquarters), but each local body is under the oversight of its elders (bishops). These bishops are to govern that local body of people (Philippians 1:1; Acts 20:28; 1 Peter 5:1-4) and no other. God placed Jesus as the head of the church and since that is the case, man need not set up a earthly headquarters with presidents, popes, etc. (Ephesians 5:23; Colossians 1:18).
God also organized church servants, (deacons) to serve the local church by performing various tasks (1 Timothy 3:1-15). God has organized his children to gather to partake of the communion on the first day of the week (Sunday) [1 Corinthians 11:26; Acts 20:7]. God organized members of the local church who made money during the week to lay aside once into the collection of the local church (1 Cor. 16:1-4). During Sunday worship, songs of praise, and a message of hope will be delivered to the church (Acts 2:42). All of this has been organized by God, and we, too, should practice organization in what we do (1 Cor. 14:40). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30. “The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing” Psalm 34:10.
Many are hurting and moving in the wrong direction and will eventually fall off the cliff into the fires of hell; and this will be the case because they don’t know God. What in the world are people thinking? Time is running out and man is one step closer to the grave. Ask yourself, where are the people are who lived in 1880? Those people are dead and everyone today will be joining them at some point, so man better get right with God. Again, what are you waiting for? One cannot sit idle and do nothing because the word of God teaches that man must do something and that something is to obey the gospel (Hebrews 5:9; 1 Corinthians 15:1-2; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. |
