The original meaning of the word “church” means those who are called out.  
Called out from what; you might ask?    Called out from darkness or sin and
replaced into another realm, that being the church.   Col 1:13. Acts 2:47. John 10:9.  
 
Before being called by the gospel of Jesus Christ, a person is in the world and is hell bound.
Col 3:6-7. 1 Cor 6:9-11.  That person is living in sin and is separated from the comfort of God.
But, when obedience to the gospel is done that person leaves the filthy world and takes up
​existence in the salvation of Christ body, the church. John 3:13-21. Rom 6:1-23.  1 Thess 2:11-13.   Eph 2:1-22.   Heb 5:9.
 
Being placed into the church is like being placed into the ark.  Once Noah and the others entered the ark, God shut them in.  They were saved from the flood because salvation was only in the ark.  Gen 6:12-22.  Gen 7:5-16.  Gen 7:21-24.
 
If you haven’t obeyed the gospel, you aren’t in the church.  If you aren’t in the church, you aren’t saved. If you aren’t saved, you are hell bound. You must obey the word of God and save yourself from eternal destruction. 2 Thess 1:7-10.  Acts 2:40-41.

Recently while looking at a 1935 movie, it occurred to me that the actors 
I was being entertained by are dead. 
 
These actors at one time lived just like all of us. They loved, they hated, they saw churches,
and they heard of the Bible. They had the same problems, the same successes, marriages,
jobs, read the newspaper, ate dinner, went on vacations, all the things that we do now.
But it is 2024, their work is left behind on film and they are dead. 
 
The lesson, life is as a vapor which appears for a little while and then it's gone. James 4.14.
The Bible teaches it is appointed unto all men to die and after that the Judgment. Heb 9.27.   
These people have ended their earthly existence and are now standing to account unto
God. Romans 14.10-12.

These criminals just don't get it. By now, everyone has heard the killer of the CEO of United healthcare was apprehended in western Pennsylvania attempting to flee the murder that he committed in NYC. 
 
The Bible teaches that the eyes of God sees all. Pro 15.3. Psa 69.5.
The Bible teaches Christians to pray and many Christians did just that.  
They prayed that this person who committed this crime would be arrested; and lo and behold,
that was the case!    No one can hide from the eyes of God and no one can hide from the prayers
of a righteous person.   James 5.16-18. 
 
 Let all evil doers beware. Galatians 6.7-8. Proverbs 11.5. 
 
 

   When the cat is away, the mice do play.  And so, the saying goes.  
It is quite often that people will betray the trust that others have placed in
them by using money, property, automobile or some other valuable in a way
that wasn’t authorized.    

For example, a person is told to watch the house while the owners are on vacation.   
But the house sitter brings girls over and the owner didn’t give permission.  

In another situation, a person is supposed to repair a car and rather than repair or even after the repair is done, they go joy riding in the car.   The owners gave no permission for such abuse.  It is the caretakers who decided to take advantage of the owner absence.    

The word of God teaches us to work for our fellow man as if we are doing the job for the Lord Himself. Col 3.23-24.   It teaches us to obey our employers.  Col 3.22.    

The word teaches us to treat others as we wish to be treated.  Luke 6.31.  

The word teaches us not to be deceitful and not to lie.  2 Cor 4.1-2 Eph 4.24   

Also, the word of God, informs us that the Lord sees all the deeds of men.  Heb 4.13.   
 When a caretaker abuses trust, he is in violation of all the above and in danger
of damnation. John 5.29.   

​The thing to do is your duty.  Don’t be deceitful behind someone back. You wouldn’t want such done to you; so be truthful, don’t behave in an unethical manner with trust that has been given to you.         Do what is expected of you.

There are houses that are wrong and houses that are right.  Psa 119:86-105.  
Jos 24:15.   Acts 16:30-33.   
 
With that being said, we ask. “Is your house right?”  Just in case you haven’t
a clue as to what makes a house right, listen to this.   If you are male; do you show
God fearing-leadership which directs the family?  Is your house in church on Sunday?  
Have you obeyed the gospel, being baptized for the forgiveness of sins? Acts 2:38. Acts 22:16.    
Are you married to the woman in your house?   Are your children born into a legal marriage?  
Are you having bible classes teaching the children how to behave and become productive citizens
of the future?  Do you have fits of rage, swearing, smoking, drinking, hanging out in the streets
​and your children know?   
 
I ask; “Is your house right?”   

In Acts chapter 16.33, we read Paul and his coworker took a man and his family in the night
and baptized them the same hour in which they confessed their belief in Christ.   
 
Now, someone may say; why didn't they just wait till the morning?

The reason is the man would not be saved from his sins.  Being baptized is how sins are
washed away Acts 22.16.  Once a person accepts the gospel of Christ, the first stop is baptism.
Acts 8.36-38.
 
Remember baptism is the watery grave, where men contact the blood of Christ.
Rom 6.1-17. 1 John 5.6-10.   Had they waited until the morning light, the man could have died
or the world may have come to an end, and the man would still be in his sins.  John8.21.
​So, when one is ready to accept Christ, get them to the water.
 

According to Jesus Christ in Luke 16.19-31, He gives a brief look at the hereafter of the departed souls.   According to Jesus Christ, once a soul arrives in hades to await the Judgment, he is either in a place called the bosom of Abraham or a place of torment.   The soul is left, to await the final judgment when that soul will stand before Jesus to be judged according to his works.
2 Corinthians 5.10.
 
The soul does not have the privilege of leaving the afterlife; his body has been buried in the earth and his material possessions have been distributed and given to others, so there's nothing on the earth for the soul to come back to, he's finished with the earth; he's done.  Job 7.8-10
 
There is no such thing as ghosts who haunt the earth, because the soul is in the hadean world and the only way there could be ghosts on earth, is if the soul is able to escape from the angels who carry it at death into the hadean world. 

There was a story in the newspaper about a young man who killed his girlfriend because she was pregnant, and he didn’t want a baby.  After hiring hit men to do the job, the police quickly found out about the murder and they arrested the boyfriend.   Now we have a young lady and a baby dead, and a young man whose life is now changed forever.    Such is the consequences of sin.  I cannot make it plainer; if you are having sex with a person who isn’t your spouse, it’s fornication. 
Hebrew 13.4. 1 Cor 6.18. 
 
I know that some people are going to do what they want; and God isn’t going to stop them.  
​Every person must make up their own mind if they're going to obey the law of God.  Joshua 24.14-15.   However, in the end, every man will suffer the consequences of his actions. Luke 16.25. Galatians 6.7-8. Romans 6.23. Pro 26.27
