Putting 100 percent effort into relationships is the only way they will last; whether it be marriage, friendship, a job or whatever. In Romans 12:18, the Bible teaches "that if possible, exist in peace with all." Such a scripture affirms the reality of going the extra mile in order to co-exist with others and to make people around us better. In 1 Corinthians 9:19–22, the Bible speaks of the Apostle Paul's ability to work with others on their level and to do so very well. In Luke 22:32, Jesus told Peter, "strengthen thy brethren," which definitely means to make them better. That is how relationships work and last, the people in relationships must be concerned about the well being of the other people who are in the relationship too (John 8:29; John 15:14; 1 John 3:16–18; Hebrews 10:24; Heb. 12:12–16; Galatians 6:2; Ephesians 5:25; Titus 2:4–5; Heb. 13:17, Eph. 6:5–9). Take the Bible information and use it as you meet and form bonds with others. If something causes the relationship to go bad, don't let it be your fault and if you follow the word of God, it sure won't be. Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. "And to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life and attend to your own business and work with your hands, just as we commanded you. So that you may behave properly toward outsiders and not to be in any need." (1 Thessalonians 4:11–12 NAS). The beauty of this verse is seen in the command for a person to take charge of their own responsibility and provide for themselves. No one should be a beggar, a leech, or a "woe is me" person, feeling sorry for themselves. Recognize that God has told us to provide for every need we may have. No one should depend upon others to put food on the table or a roof over their heads. Everyone must learn the value of self worth and self obligation; for if the $60,000 a year job isn't available yet, take the $30,000 a year job until that higher paying one comes along. By doing so, a person will have honest money in his pockets and not be sitting at home depending on someone else to provide. And one more thing—keep away from illegal and dishonest money! (1 Timothy 6:6–10). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. This is only for people who believe the Bible to be God's word.
The word "welcome" on a sign is not on there without qualification. For example, the sign outside a hot dog restaurant might read "all welcome," however that doesn't mean that criminals can come in and do as they please. It also doesn't mean that non criminals with bad tempers can come in and snap at the waitress or yell at other customers, etc. What it does mean is, "Come in and we will do you good." The same is true with the church; for the sign does say "welcome" and everyone is invited to come and learn what God would have them to do (Acts 9:5–6). The reason this is being said is because many visit church and get angry when they learn that they have to stop doing something. They will protest "the sign said welcome and nothing about ceasing doing this or that!" To which we must reply, "coming to the house of God is a growing and learning experience. You add things to your life and cast away others, for being welcome isn't a green light to remain in sin, after you have been shown the truth," (John 8:31–32; Luke 13:3; Ephesians 4:17–32; John 12:48; Romans 6:12–23; 2 Corinthians 7:2; 1 Corinthians 6:18; 1 Timothy 6:10; 2 Thessalonians 3:10). We cannot have it both ways; and by that I mean, kick the law of Almighty God out of our lives and expect good behavior from mankind. People fail to understand that it is the word of God that has introduced right and wrong to man (James 1:17). It's not left up to a human being to define evil and righteousness (Romans 7:7–12. This nation has drifted way too far from the word of God and is in danger of being destroyed because only righteousness will exalt a nation (Proverbs 14:34; Prov. 11:11; Psalm 33:12). For example, there is a lot of talk against the ten commandments being posted at government sites. Yet, there are trials in court houses prosecuting those who have lied, stolen, and killed. Seems to me, if we had the ten commandments posted in public places, we probably would have discouraged many from lying, stealing, and killing. People ought to be glad to see God's instructions which encourage righteous behavior. Remember, Martha Stewart went to jail for the very thing that the ten commandments would have instructed her not to do (Exodus 20:16). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. Conduct of people behaving badly can be seen in back stabbing. People stab each other in the back for just about anything. They then smile in their victim's face as a comforter, knowing full well that they are the source of the pain. Imagine a murderer pretending to be concerned and helping the police and neighbors search for a body that hehid. Deplorable, but very real!! People also gossip about each other as if it were a sport. Why not just sit down and talk with the person who gets on your nerves? Why call up Aunt Sally and gossip about the person with her? Something's surely not right here! Bad behavior continues to exist by people who use profanity. Just the other night, a certain comedian had Hollywood worried that the Oscars would be tarnished with his use of profane speech. A man has reached a sorry level if he must depend upon or enjoy profane speech. No person should be using four letter words to describe a football game or tell a joke! The end result is all men will answer to God for what they do (2 Corinthians 5:10). Rather than behaving badly, men should be preparing to meet God (Matthew 24:44). Many homes have children who are poorly fed, not loved, battered wives, and drunken husbands. Many children will not leave the house that they grew up in; they continue to remain there long after they become adults, living off the parents and are unemployed. In some houses the teenagers are rebellious, and parents are afraid. In other homes there are family members involved in drugs and in many cases bringing the problems of the drug world back to their home doorsteps. Some families have those who have died because of wild living, the daughters are pregnant, and parents are in jail. Some parents get high and haven't paid their bills and are in danger of eviction or utilities shut off. etc. etc. The word of God has never promised man a trouble-free life, but the problems here are caused by people. That is why the Bible is a great source for personal development; for the scriptures will teach men how to behave and how to live on this earth in order to avoid creating his own hardships. Give the Bible a try (Matthew 11:28–30; Psalm 19:8; Proverbs 6:23). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services This is only for people who believe the Bible to be God's word.
Old man Noah was 600 years old when he entered the Ark as the heavens let down the rain upon the earth (Genesis 7:11). Noah built the ark and gathered the animals which God told him to place inside (Gen. 6:13–22). Noah was also a preacher, for he is known in bible history as a preacher of righteousness (2 Peter 2:5). But Bible history shows us that his preaching fell on deaf ears, for only his family was saved (Gen. 7:13, 16, 21–22; 1 Peter 3:20). The people considered Noah a fool!! Here was this fellow working on a big boat, and claiming destruction was on its way. Imagine the people who laughed at him and also avoided him because they didn't want to listen to what he had to say. I'm sure he wasn't a popular fellow, but rather a man of reproach and ridicule. The lesson from all this is, Noah and the people of his day are long dead and gone; but today we still have Christians warning of the Judgment Day and the majority are doing the same now, as those people did back in the time of Noah (2 Timothy 3:1–13. 1 Thessalonians 1:4–10. Matthew 7:13–14. 2 Thess. 1:7–12). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. This is only for people who believe the Bible to be God's word.
"Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my word shall stand forever," (Matthew 24:25). "The grass withers and the flower fades, but the word of God shall stand forever," (1 Peter 1:24–25). The Bible is a book built for all centuries. If this world stands another 500 years, the words of this holy book will still be valid. Notice what God has said concerning the family, and take notice of His warning to those who attempt to change what He has decreed. "For what God has joined together, let not man put asunder," (Matt. 19:6). The family according to the word of God is so simply defined that if a person gets it wrong that person had to want to do so (2 Timothy 4:3–4). The Lord said, the family is one man, one woman, in marriage until death do them part (Romans 7:1–4; Genesis 2:21–25; Mark 9:6–9). Also, sexual relations and children are permitted only inmarriage (Gen. 3:16; 1 Corinthians 7:1–5, 14; 1 Tim. 5:14). Today, people are trying as hard as possible to change or complicate what God has said. Beware! Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. This is only for people who believe the Bible to be God's word.
Consider these interesting things that the Bible teaches about sin. Sin is the violation of God's law (1 John 3:4). There is no little sin or big sin because all sin is equal and will condemn man (1 John 5:17). Everyone has sinned (Romans 5:12). Sin separates man from God (Isaiah 59:1–2). Man shouldn't give in to sin (Rom. 6:13). God refuses to listen to the prayers of those who continue to sin (John 9:31). A person cannot hide his sin for it will find him out (Numbers 32:23). If a man refuses to forgive others for their sins, then God will not forgive him (Mark 11:25–26). Those who die without God's forgiveness of their sins will go to Hell (John 8:21). Jesus came to this earth and died so that all men can have salvation from their sins (1 Corinthians 15:3). Baptism is for the forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38). In baptism one's sins are washed away (Acts 22:16). If one confesses and forsakes sin, he can have mercy (Proverbs 28:13). God hates sin (Proverbs 6:16–19). Sin is worse than AIDS, cancer, and Alzheimer's combined; for those can only kill the body, while sin condemns the soul forever (Galatians 5:19–21). Right and wrong exists. When one believes something, he is either correct or in error—for there is no middle ground. But when it concerns religion, many deny this and try to argue that everyone is right. "Let that person have his own beliefs, don't bother him for what he believes, and let him not bother you." This statement is wrong. False teaching does exist. Religious people do misuse scriptures. Churches and preachers do believe and teach things which they ought not. There are people on their way to hell, instead of heaven. So what is to be done concerning such? Think about what we are saying. You dear reader have beliefs, and you are either right or wrong (Proverbs 14:12; Prov. 12:15; Prov. 21:2; Jeremiah 10:23; Matthew 7:13–29; Matt. 22:29; Acts 15:1–35; Acts 18:1–6; Acts 18:24–28; 2 Peter 2:1–3; Revelation 2:1–2). Can you open the Bible and prove your beliefs without using scriptures out of context? Can you find the name of your church in the Bible? Can you read of your religious practices in the Bible? If not, are you right or wrong? Think about it. Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. |
