There are many attempting to predict the end of the world, and they claim the Bible has signs that will precede the end of time so a person can pretty much guess the date. Such is 100 percent false! Jesus said the end of the world is unknown to anyone except God the Father (Matthew 24:36).
Jesus plainly said there would be no signs to forewarn of his coming since he compared his arrival as a thief (Matt. 24:42-44; 1 Thessalonians 5:1-6). Now we all know a thief gives no warning before he breaks in—it is always unexpected. So will it be when the world comes to an end with the arrival of Jesus and the Judgment Day (Acts 17:31; 2 Peter 3:10). People will be going about their daily business, and all a sudden the Judgment Day will come upon us all (Matt 25:35-39; 24:42-51). Man has no way of knowing how close or when the world will end because God has made life that way, and the best thing we all can do is prepare ourselves. Being condescending is a tone of speech that makes listeners feel that the speaker is talking down to them (Genesis 44:14-15). The Bible teaches us to speak with words seasoned with salt and grace (Colossians 4:6). The Bible also teaches men to be careful with their words because emotion with its finger on the trigger of the tongue causes much damage (James 3:5-10). And the proud attitude of looking down on others, considering oneself to be so much better, is just plain ignorant (1 Corinthians 8:2; 1 Cor. 1:27). One of the virtues of being wise is to work with others on their level and understand that none is greater because of degrees from institutions of higher learning (1 Cor. 9:19-23; Romans 12:15-16; Matthew 18:1-5).
Such is true because all men die, and Jesus won’t judge men because of degrees or lack thereof (Ecclesiastes 3:18-21; Matt. 25:32-33). So let none of us be guilty of practicing condescending speech; instead let us speak to each other as equals because in the eyes of God we are (Acts 17:26; Acts 10:34-35; Rom. 2:11; Rom 3:23). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. In Matthew 17:8 we read, “when the disciples open their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.” So guess what? Man needs to see the same today. We don’t need anything else but the One who died for our sins and that is the Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ (Matt. 1:21; Acts 4:12). There is so much out there trying to get our attention, and many are asking that we pay money.
For example, we have a lot of authors writing so called self-development books and promoting those books on TV and radio, book signings, etc. But you don’t need their books, instead you need information from the One who will save you at the end of your life (John 5:24, 6:63:68, 8:51, 12:47). The words of a famous person on TV is simply his words, and those words have no saving power because chances are the words weren’t created by him. Also if you read his book, you will see that he took much from the words of the Bible. So all of those books are telling us how to be happy or how to have a great marriage, etc, are nothing new. Such information has already been spoken centuries ago by the Lord (Psalm 146:3-5). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. There may be someone trying to get away from association with a no good person, and if you are such a one, consider these Bible verses and act upon them quickly.
So get control of your life by dumping dead beats, and your first step should be toward the Lord. If you want to get your life right and if you are willing to let the word of God show you how, we want to hear from you. Hope you make the effort to savage your life and save your soul (Acts 2:40). “And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan; 2And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there. 3The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? 4And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that He which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? 6Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. 7They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? 8He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. 9And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery” (Matthew 19:1-9).
How much plainer could Jesus had made it concerning marriage, divorce, and tampering with what He has established? The warning to men is this: leave what God has proclaimed alone. Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. Colossians 3:18-21 gives a challenge to the family, so take a few moments to read the following verses and see how your life matches up.
18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. 19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them. 20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. 21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged. How did you match up? Is there any thing you need to change? Have you been doing what the Bible teaches in these matters? Only you dear reader can answer these questions, and they must be answered truthfully because your soul is at stake (Romans 14:11-12). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. There are infants, young children, teenagers, and young adults who have been abandoned by parents and left to grow up without family. That is a hideous thing to do to one’s own seed (1 Timothy 5:8). It is terrible to imagine an irresponsible person bringing a child into the world and fleeing, claiming that his style has been cramped. Youngsters are then faced with foster homes or city agencies where they will live and have employees as the ones that they come home to after school. In Philadelphia this has happened too many times with no end in sight. To that person about to give birth, don’t abandon that child! That innocent one is your responsibility, and you will answer to God.
Be a man. Be a woman. Take care of that child and provide a home for him! To those who have already abandon children, repent! Go back get those children and do the right thing! And finally, wait until you get married to have children, plan your family. So take care of business and quit sinning against children, causing them to face lives without a home or parents (Genesis 42:22). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. Have you ever given any thought about the rainbow? Do you think it just happens to appear for no reason? The truth is, the rainbow is no accident. It appears after the rain because it has been programmed to do so. The rainbow is God giving us a warning and assurance concerning a promise.
During the days of Noah, God wiped all land life away with a world wide flood, and He said that would never happen to the earth again (Genesis 6:22, 8:21-22). After Noah left the ark, God told him that the rainbow would be set in the sky as a sign of His eternal promise (Gen. 9:8-17). So think about that the next time you see a rainbow. And by the way, the earth and sky will not be destroyed by nations and their nukes, but by the hand of the Almighty at the Judgment (2 Peter 3:1-13; Matthew 24:35; Hebrews 1:10-12). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. Some have said, “why buy the cow, if you can get the milk for free”? They are speaking of marriage and attempting to defend why they don’t believe in the institution of marriage. Marriage is real regardless what men think; it was created by the Lord and given to man in the beginning (Matthew 19:4-5; Genesis 2:18-25). In marriage a man can have sex with his wife and not have to worry about the wrath of God because of fornication (Hebrews 13:4; 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8; 1 Corinthians 7:1-5).
In marriage a man can have children and not have to suffer the wrath of God (1 Cor. 7:14; 1 Timothy 5:10, 3:4, 12; Colossians 3:18-21, 25). In marriage a woman can have the companionship of a man and not have to worry about standing before God on the Day of Judgment and giving account as to why she lived with a man in violation (shacking up) of the word of the Lord (2 John 9; John 12:48). Let me remind you that living together came after God gave His law to marry. It is a innovation created by man and will lead to many losing their souls (1 Cor. 6:9, 13, 18; Ephesians 2:2-3; Ecclesiastes 7:29). And by the way, marriage according to God is male and female, and man cannot change that. Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. Nations throughout the world are facing severe economical hardships. Foreclosures and unemployment appear to have no end in sight. So what are we to do? One thing we cannot do is give up hope because we must believe that things will get better.
Man needs to continue the search for a job and homes because once a person stops, all hope stops. The phrase, “keep hope alive” means that hope must be stimulated—it just doesn’t stay within man—but by believing in a better tomorrow, that hope keeps churning. Man must not be too proud to do what he may have never done before. For example, if working at Burger King was a no, no, man must be prepared to work there. In other words, the phrase “Ain’t too proud to beg” is the way to go. And last but not least, remember God. In the past, there has been too much emphasis on making money and none for the Lord, and that kind of conduct must change (Proverbs 1:20-33; Deuteronomy 28:1-68). Hope to hear from you or see you at the services. |
