Listening to the Word of God

There are some who don’t want a church that teaches the word of God. Those people want a church that makes them feel good and tells them what they want to hear. In other words, a don’t rock the boat kind of church; a whatever and anything goes kind of church. Such people aren’t concern about the word of God. Such people have never given any thought that God demands certain things. John
6:38-40.
 
Instead, it is all about what they want and what they expect. Listen to the scripture as it warns about such persons.
 
2 Timothy 4:3-4 New International Version (NIV) For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.
 
Does this describe you? Be honest with yourself; for it is your soul at stake. If we fail to have an open mind toward the word of God. We cannot be saved. 2 Tim 2.16-26.
