Some churches teach that a person cannot eat certain foods and that some foods can only be
eaten on certain days. Like fish on Fridays and certain meals of so-called Holy days or holidays.
 
In the Old Testament the people of God were commanded to eat certain foods. Lev 11. 1-47.  
If we lived during that time, we would have to be aware of everything that enters our mouth.
Questions such as, is this legal for me to eat?  Should I be considering buying this item to eat? etc.   
 
But now, by the death of our Lord on the cross, He removed the Old testament and established
the new. We aren't under the Old Testament because that part of the Bible is no longer binding
on men.   Heb 8:6-13. II Cor 3:6. 
 
Since this is true, one may ask; why are churches limiting foods?  The New Testament said men
would teach false doctrine instructing people that they can’t eat foods which God has permitted,
​with the giving thanks. 1 Tim 4:1-5. So that is the reason why.
 
Read the bible and don’t place your hope in church leaders. Acts 17.11
