A young man began dating a young girl and they sat down and talked about sex. They wanted to make sure this divisive subject was dealt with before their relationship began.
Both agreed that dating has nothing to do with sex. They agreed dating has everything to do with getting to know one another and seeing if they are compatible in personally. They also realized this would be their first phrase and if they liked each other well enough, they would transition to marriage. They recognized that in marriage, sex, pooling their money and living under the same roof would be the second phrase. The third phase would be taking care of problems. Whether it be learning about sex, learning about paying bills, learning about children or more on being a couple, they would work it out. This message we wish to share with the upcoming generation and anyone else who will listen. Hebrews 13.4. 1 Timothy 5.14. 1 Corinthians 6.18. Ephesians 5.31.

The bible is the word of Almighty God. While it is sad that some don’t believe.
The supreme teachings that come from its pages cannot be denied. For example, “treat others as you wish to be treated.” Matt 7:12. This command came from God and for that reason, no one can quote another statement that tops it. Man may build upon the statement, but they cannot produce a quote that is superior to it. Moses knew that because he told the nation of Israel, that no civilization had laws superior laws to theirs. Deut 4.8. Because no man can outthink or out create what governs human behavior better the Creator. Treating others as one wants to be treated, destroys all the bad things that humans do to each other. No one wants to be murdered, robbed, shot, beat up, slandered, become a victim of I D fraud, etc. While evil men may do such to their victims, the same evil men don’t want someone else to do so to them. Treating others humanely is Godly, because that is how God views behavior. He attempts to install such character in us so we can learn to be like Him. The man said, “I don’t smoke, drink, do drugs or fornicate.”
His listeners stood there looking at him like he was insane and finally after a few moments one of them said; “what in the world is wrong with you?” “There is nothing wrong with me”, the man replied. “But there is something wrong with you. Those things that I don’t do are sinful things that the word of God makes perfectly clear. There is nothing wrong with obeying the word of the Lord; but there is plenty wrong following the world. 1 John 2.15-17. Jesus is going to come back and judge this world and all the ungodly will have their part in the Lake of fire. Jude 14-16. Rev 21.7-8. But not me. I'm going to do what the Lord said and save my soul. God said be holy because He is holy. 1 Pt 1.15-16. I'm just doing what the Lord said and if that makes me different from all the other people in the world; so be it.” Matt 5.13-16. Just when you think that everyone has forgotten about the Lord; it is always refreshing to see some haven’t. Since these people aren’t too far away from God, all they need a little more study of the word and they will be in the right place. Mark 12.34.
It is refreshing to hear someone talking about plans and they say; “if it’s the Lords will, I will do this or I will do that.” That shows they know about uncertainty and that everything is in the hands of the Lord. Jas 4.13-15. It’s refreshing to hear athletes thanking the Lord after winning a championship game. Heb 13.15 It’s refreshing to go to dinner and see others praying before they eat their meals. Acts 27.33-37. When concerning churches, you will have to watch out for man-made doctrine. Matt 7.15. Mark 7.7. Rom 10.1-2. Romans 10.1-3 This kind of dogma is not from God, and it can rob you of liberties which are yours to keep and will condemn your soul. 2 Peter 2.1-2. Matt 15.13-14.
The only defense one can have against false doctrine, is the knowledge of the word of God which can be learned by private study Acts 17.11. Rev 2.2. Jesus said all should be students of the word to be confident they are hearing truth. John 5.39 John 8.31-32. Many people praise churches, unaware that they are rejoicing in division. However, the bible teaches that there is to be no division. 1 Cor 1.10. That all men should teach the small doctrine and if men would speak where the bible speaks and remain silent where the bible is silent, such could be the case. 1 Tim 1.3 1 Tim 4.16. 1 Tim 6.3. 2 Tim 1.13. We cannot worship God as we please, we must worship God in spirit and in truth. John 4.24. Demand book, chapter, and verse for practices which you might hear in your church. Ask, where was this belief ever done in scripture? A teacher was assaulted at a high school by two students after he confiscated a cell phone from them during class. There are two evils seen here. First, “disregard for law and class room.”
The school had rules about phones. But these young men chose not to listen. Pro 1:7. A class is a place for learning and not for gadget tinkering. Acts 21:40. Acts 22:1-2. Jesus Christ taught many classes. Matt 26:55. John 8:2 Luke 5:1-3:17. And though He had interruptions (Matt 21:23, Luke 10:40-42, Luke 12:13-14, Luke 11:27-28), He still realized the importance of paying attention. Matt 11:15, Luke 10:39, Luke 11:1-2, John 6:45. Next, “Disrespect for their teachers.” They attacked a man who was trying to do them good! Why couldn’t they have gone before the school board and argued their case? Why act like two jackals and attack this poor man? They also could have apologized and promise not to do it again and might have gotten the phone back. Pro 15:1. Pro 25:11. Pro 30:33. I sure hope the other students will learn not to deal with matters as these two did. Pro 4:14 Living a holy life is indeed the way to go. First reason, we reap what we sow. Gal 6.7-8.
If we live an immoral life full of debauchery, we will reap the same in return. In Proverbs 7.6-27. We read of a man going into the home of a very perverted woman. The dangers that victim faced are clearly expressed in Proverbs 5.3-23. Proverbs 6.24-35. Disease, revenge from a husband wrath, shame, going through all the stress that one does, when trying to achieved that which can never be. etc. Proverbs 1.33 teaches that all who listen to the truth of God word, will live life in peace and be free from the worries of evil. GAMBLING AND THE LOVE OF MONEY
But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1Tim 6:9-10. He that is greedy of gain troubles his own house; but he that hates bribes shall live. Pro 15:27 IF YOU SEE GAMBLING, YOU WILL SEE THESE TOO *GRIEF. *LOSS OF PAYCHECK *GREED *ADDICTION *PAWN SHOPS *DIVORCE AND BROKEN HOMES *I’M GONNA TAKE YOUR MONEY *CRIME *DRINKING According to the Bible, the first day of the week is worship time where people come together in the local church, take the communion, give into the offering, sing and pray and listen to the word of God. Acts 20.7. I Cor 16.1-4. Eph 5.19.
However, there are many things that will take people away from truth. The lure of the world and its activities. We have sports, public events of all kinds which steer people away from worshipping God. One thing we must remember is, know what we need to do and never allow anything to stop us from doing it. 1 John 2.15 The world may never change from the course on which it has been set. But that don't mean you have to let the world change you. Jesus Christ said that he would build his church and that meant he was only going to build one. Matt 16.18. Jesus fulfill that promise by establishing his church in the city of Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost. Luke 24.45-49. Acts 2.1-6:37-47. If you go back to Matthew 1618 the word church is singular, it does not mean plural, therefore all the churches that you see today cannot be what Jesus meant. Jesus prays for those believing in Him to be unified as He and the Father are. John 17.20-23.
Someone is wrong! There is no way that all these different beliefs can be right. The only way one can know is to examine what the Bible teaches. In next week's words of the week, we will give four identification marks of the true church. And that information is found in every Bible. |
