We have two unfavorable persons running for President of the United States. But I will not sit home on election day because I want to play a part in what will be happening concerning the future of this country.
The word of God teaches that blessings come to a nation when that nation is doing what is pleasing in His eyes (Proverbs 14:34, 16:7, 11:11; Psalms 33:12; Genesis 18:23-33; Jonah 3:4-10; Deuteronomy 28:1-14). Many people put faith in man and his promises, but that is wrong because the word of God teaches us not to do so (Jeremiah 17:5-7). It is God, not man, who brings peace and prosperity to a land, so we have it all wrong when we talk about how a man will make our lives better. God has many monkey wrenches in His tool box and when He gets mad at men promoting sin, God throws his wrench into the plans of men and cause them to fail (2 Kings 13:1-3; Daniel 4:28-37; 1 Corinthians 1:19, 3:19). We have seen immoral practices legalized and promoted by this current White House along with Hollywood. Since most people in this country are ungodly, they have fallen in line with the White House and Hollywood and are promoting its flawed terminology. The phrase, “God Bless America” results in being a joke because God will not bless a mess. And the pitiful thing is, people today have no idea that God isn’t with us. If we want God to bless America, the White House and Hollywood, along with every Tom, Dick, and Harry, better get in line with God’s word. It is very important that leaders of nations recognize that God expects us to honor His word or risk destruction should we create laws that offend Him (2 Kings 17:1-23). Voting is giving one’s permission for a candidate to enter office (1 Samuel 10:27). But, what is one to do when our choices are such as what we have today? This is what I plan to do on election day. I will look past the two persons who are the faces of the two major parties. Instead I will look into the bags they are carrying and see if there are things inside that I believe in and can live with. As a preacher of the gospel of Jesus Christ, I must preach the 100% pure message of Christ (Acts 20:26-27). I will vote for the person that will make it easier for me to preach what the Bible teaches (1 Timothy 2:1-3). There is no way, I would vote for the person who will make it difficult for me to instruct men with the gospel. I want to be able to save the souls of men by introducing the requirements of God without persecution from government (1 Timothy 4:16). I don’t want to mislead men into Hell by agreeing with or compromising truth for what is the popular today. The word of God has clearly defined marriage as a union of one man and one woman (Matthew 19:4-5). The word of God has clearly told us that homosexual acts are sinful and those failing to repent will lose their souls (Romans 1:20-32; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; 1 Tim. 1:9-10; Jude 5-8). The Bible has clearly warned men not to put asunder what God has joined together—that being male and female (Matt. 19:6). The Bible has clearly taught that life begins at conception. And selfish people, who don’t want a baby to cramp their style, commit sin in the name of abortion, by killing these children (Jeremiah 1:5-6). I say to all women that you have the right not to have a unwanted baby—just don’t commit fornication with a man. Wait till you are married and ready to plan on bringing a child into the world (Hebrew 13:4). This is what I want to teach to America and the world. I don’t want a king or President making my job harder because he has passed laws in violation of God’s law, commanding me not to teach in Jesus name (Acts 4:18-21, 5:26-32). Churches that teach false doctrine make things worse by claiming that sin is acceptable to God. These churches make what people want to do the law and cast aside what the word of God has commanded men to do (Mark 7:13). Teaching that gay marriage and abortion are acceptable is false doctrine and anyone endorsing it is promoting sin. I will close with a line from a song of the late Teddy Pendergrass. Wake up White House! Wake up Hollywood! Wake up Philadelphia! Wake up America! Wake up everybody! ~James Baker Comments are closed.
