Parents Means Respect

Children, obey your parents in everything, for this is your acceptable duty in the Lord. And fathers, do not provoke your children, or they may lose heart. Col 3.20-21
 
There are two jobs mention in this scripture. First, children need to give honor to their parents, who brought them into this world and has been providing care. Respect them by following their instruction as they give that information from the word of the Lord. Don’t claim parents don’t know what they are talking about. Parents have walked the steps that sons and daughters are currently beginning and for that reason, they are due respect.
 
And parents, don’t be slave drivers. Your children are only capable of so much and you need to know their limits and be patient with them. Otherwise, you will create stress, resentment and low self-esteem which will do nothing to improve children.
